2011 NFC North

I suspect you are from California to come up with such a one sided opinion.

Children. Children. Stop fighting.

They’re both douchebags and both at fault for the little hissy fit they threw.

I got a chuckle out of the report that supposedly during Sunday’s game, Jay Cutler breaks the huddle and yells to the sideline at his Quarterback Coach to tell Mike Martz “Fuck you!” You go, Jay!

Green Bay versus Minnesota. This week makes me miss

Clearly it does…

We all miss Bud Grant, Gangster, we all do.

Ugh, posting from a phone is a pain. I meant to say it makes miss Dio.

Olin Kreutz © retired from the Saints. Said he’s lost his passion for the game. I didn’t see that one coming…

Opps…meant this for the Week 6 thread. Sorry.

Jerome Harrison was operated on for his brain tumor today. He was the Detroit back who was offered in trade and failed the physical. He had complained of headaches.

Bears made the right call on this one.

It’s not as though they had a capable replacement waiting in the wings.

Huh? Garza is starting there and was on the team last year. He’s the reason Kruetz was expendable.

Lions lost to Atlanta. The Lions are not a great team, but evaluating them is tricky. Stafford is still playing like a rookie. They converted one 3rd down through the whole game. They can not sustain a march down the field with that. Best is hurt slowing down the small running game they have.
Atlanta got a million penalties and the Lions could not take advantage.

Christian Ponder is a “my guy”, but I would be OK with him not playing this well against the Packers. I’m intrigued by what Capers will do from here on out. I will say that the Vikings look completely different with Ponder than with McNabb.

Yeah sucks without Dio .. Big fan of Dnabb since his Chicago Mt Carmel days.. but it was def time for Ponder.. So far. dude looks good.. THe vikes need to go ahead and get their reload on..

THe Bears need to pay Forte.. seriously..

Are we talking about Roberto Garza? The guy who’s given up 3 and a half sacks sacks?

Ponder showed some potential. Good pocket presence and accuracy. He made a lot of risky throws and it remains to be seen whether he will (a) make those throws less risky and develop into a great QB, or (b) continue to throw a lot of picks. Hopefully the latter.

The Packers played pretty poorly and still came away with a win they didn’t really need (thanks, Atlanta!). On to the bye, and then probably a loss to San Diego. They have to lose one sometime.

Don’t say that!

If Aaron Rodgers continues to play as well as he has (he’s the best QB in the NFL right now, and it’s not even close) and the defense doesn’t get complacent, they will be tough to beat. Of course this is the NFL, so there is no sure thing.

In other news, the Bears are now 4-3 going into their bye, exactly where they were this time last year. And they’re in sixth place in the NFC.

Damnit, my goal coming into to this season was to not get optimistic.
