2012 - A New Year MMP

I think I may live. Funny how hydration and food helps healing. Now to catch up-- cleaning, errands, phone calls. Ugg; I hate calling, even to make appointments, much less nag.

For those bored at home; youtube can be your friend. It can also work too well. A thousand zillion things you’ve never seen, then even more stuff you haven’t seen in ages.

Off to shower the dog smell. I fell asleep on the sofa and Sweet Pea fell asleep on me.

<Will not say anything about the fire I’ve got going so as not to upset BBBobbio…>

Back from various errands. We had burgers at Red Robin, and mine was free since it’s my b-day month. Yay! Then to Lowe’s for painting and plumbing supplies, and to True Value for the plumbing stuff Lowe’s didn’t have. I’ve started laundry and **FCD **is futzing with the plumbing for the aquarium - nothing requiring heavy lifting or contorting, so that’s good. I’ve got my first load of laundry in the washer and I’ll probably do at least 2 more.

**rosie **- can you tape around the drafty window? It may not be pretty but you won’t freeze or run up your heating bill.

Congrats, Junior!!! *<flinging confetti with wild and reckless abandon>
*
That’s all for now. I could clean my desk. Or knit. Decisions, decisions…

The problem is a 3" layer of water on the bottom of the oil tank. Said water got into the fuel line and froze. Gonna talk to the landlady about having the tank cleaned.

I want my woodburner back. Waaaaaaah.

Just as I was writing a screed about how my relationship with my dad is going down the tubes, he brought me a present.

A ripe orange just picked off the miniature tree in our backyard.

Best. Orange. Ever.

The only thing you could pick off a tree in my back yard right now is an icicle!
I’ve been working on show applications today.:eek::eek::eek::eek:

Goodness gracious do they make me crazy. I sent off a bunch of questions to the lady that writes the book of shows to see what her recommendations were and decided to stop with the month of July. Maybe I’ll pick up with August tomorrow. Maybe.

I’m debating right now whether to go to game night or to go crawl into a warm bed and take a nap. It’s a tough call because this is the last game night that I’ll be able to attend for awhile due to school and they’re going to be playing Settlers of Catan which I like. But it’s also cold outside and my brain is already a bit fuzzy and half the words I’ve typed so far have come out spelled strangely.

I think it’s going to be the nap that wins out.

Nap time is good time. Think I’ll have one myself.

It’s time to assume the knit position for the night. Think warm thoughts!!

Howdy Y’all! Irk is done and soup has been consumed. MMMMMM… soup! Soup on a cold day is double Yum!

Yay for free food MOOOOOOM even if it is Red Robin [del]Yuck![/del] Yum!

Yay for junior shortdum!

StickyBuns nappage is always good especially when it’s cold out.

Boo for drafty room Rosie. Is that sump’n the remodel will take care of? Are we supposed to end sentences with of? Should that read is that sump’n of which will be taken care of by the remodel? Does anybody even care whether or not I end a sentence with of?

Hulu can also be your friend. Lots of fun stuff to watch on Hulu.

I got new spectacleese and I can see I can see I can SEE!

That is all.

Yay! I made myself make phone calls and I survived. Then I spent money on my car registration and stuff. Now I’ll just limp around and try to get things tidied up without pulling my arm even more.

The amaryllis is a big tease. Just barely closer to blooming. It’s 80 degrees out and a smidge from being hot.

I don’t care what your sentences are made of.

It’s a good thing I took a nap and stayed home. The Bubster is sick. My grandparents have been doing better about bringing the dogs upstairs while they eat but I have a feeling that they’ve forgotten exactly why and are giving the dogs ‘saved’ food when they go back downstairs. He’s the worst tonight that I’ve seen him in awhile. I gave him some medicine and we’ll see how he does. I hope we don’t have to go to the emergency vet again. :frowning:

AWWWWW poor Bubster! Hope he feels better soon. So, StickyBuns I take it you don’t care what kind of words my sentences are made up of. :stuck_out_tongue:

Yay for new specs Pearl.

I want warm weather A[sup]2[/sup]! I don’t like Winter. At all.

Hee! A[sup]2[/sup] I found an old MMP (Rue Thread) where we carried on about okra. HEE!

On that note I shall go lie upon the bed and watch me some teevee 'til sleepy time.

Nitey Nite Y’all!

Only those who bought into the 17th century idea that English should be governed by Latin grammar rules. In Latin, it’s impossible to end a sentence with a proposition. In English, you can do it all the time.

Joke:

A young man is visiting Harvard and gets lost looking for the bathroom. He stopped a professor walking by and asks, “Excuse me, sir, do you know where the bathroom’s at?”

The professor drew himself up in sharp disapproval. “Young man, in Harvard, we do not end sentences with prepositions.”

The young man sighed and tried again. “Okay. Do you know where the bathroom is at, asshole?”

phouka, I love that joke. The version I heard goes: A southern Belle goes up north to school. Meeting her dorm mate for the first time, she says, cheerily, "so, where ya’ll from? " Her new roomate looks at her witheringly and says “We’re from where we don’t end our sentences with a preposition.” So the Southern belle looks at her and says, “Oh…well then, where y’all from…BITCH?”

Swampy, I’ll say! It’s a world of difference!

Yup. Much better English, that.

Just ate leftover chicken noodle soup for dinner.
Damn, I make good soup!

Spent the day being a programmer. (at $85/hr. :D)
Gotta go back tomorrow and do it some more. :D:D:D
Stupid commission system gets screwy every year at year end.
No, I didn’t write it.
I guess I shouldn’t complain. :dubious:

I remember that silly thing! I didn’t recall it had okra in it though. Must-read for tonight. Hee! The newspaper still covers flight arrivals and coming out parties.

Another something is happening with at least three fire engines, more ambulances and many police cars. It will not appear on the news or in the paper. I can know in about five more minutes by checking one of my friends’ FB page, though.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis a chilly 32 Amurrkin out, so the weather says. However, there is no frost on the ground or on the mailbox even. The predicted high is 63. Looks like it’ll warm up to the low 70s over the next few days. Winter in south Jawja. Who knows what it will do!

A[sup]2[/sup] I kept thinkin’ it was you with the great okra riot so I finally searched for it. There are a lot of references to okra on the Dope. Go Figure.

I need me some more caffiene stat! Also, I should feed rumbly tummy and then, alas, purtify for work. Rah.

Happy Thursday Y’all!

up, caffeinated, off to irk.

We got snow overnight! OK, so it’s barely one flake deep, but still, if the light hits it just right and you squint, the ground kinda sorta looks like it might be whitish… I mainly noticed it because when I let the dog out, the black plastic sheeting that’s covering the firewood pile has obvious white on it.

This could be bad for daughter - she’s driving her dad’s Miata since it needs to be driven and I don’t drive it. I don’t know if he put his snow brush or ice scraper in it. But it’s such a wee little car, the windshield probably heats up in no time. She’ll deal.

I had a shot of amaretto and a melatonin last night, so I slept pretty well, even tho I had some bizarro dreams. Among the cast of characters, we had the guy who lived across the street from me when I was growing up and his new wife (he’s my age, but he was younger in the dream), the woman with whom I shared an elevator (that went to every floor buy 2, 3, & 4, and I needed 3), the Washington Metro, in which our car was near crushed by a rail-mounted bulldozer, a bear, an air show, three guys in a swimming pool in the midst of snow, and me on a float in that pool trying not to get wet because it was winter… damned Amaretto…

I decided yesterday that we’d have quiche for supper. Yum. I may have to run to the store for mushrooms, altho onions and spinach might be enough… if I have spinach… I could use broccoli… decisions, decisions…

Happy Thursday! Winter sucks!
