I’m awake. Bubba and I did not go to the emergency vet last night because he had gotten a little bit better and, really, to take him there would have meant an overnight stay with IVs, bloodwork, and X-Rays and he wasn’t that bad. I just looked in on him in his crate and he looked back at me (probably annoyed because he was trying to sleep and I turned on the bright overhead light). We’ll see how he is when they get up and go outside. If we have to, I’ll take him to our regular vet today.
Otherwise, I’ll just be working in my new workspace to do some more organizing.
I just skimmed thru the thread **swampy **linked - **Rue **started it and never came back again! Guess he didn’t love us much, huh? Well, of course he didn’t, since he’s completely deserted us…
Just because we don’t say it enough… okra! Okra! Okra!
I put okra in the beef veggie soup I made. I like okra. I like boiled okra. I like grilled okra. I like fried okra. I like steamed okra. I like sauteed okra. I like pickled okra. Okra! Okra! Okra!
Plus okra is a fun word to type and say. Okra!
-swampbear (sayin’ Okra! Okra! Okra! Gimme an O! Gimme a K! Gimme an R! Gimme an A! What does it spell? Okra! Okra! Okra!)
One of my New Years resolutions was/is to quit drinking coffee, so I have been drinking enough tea to make a Brit proud. Doesn’t wake me up like coffee but I can drink it all day without feeling like shit. So that’s a plus. But it takes a bit to get moving in the morning.
Ook, I have to go to the dentist this morning and I didn’t sleep well. Plus some utility or another started making noise at the crack of dawn. Now my hair is doing something floopy in front.
Ah well, it can only get better. Like I can read the rest of the thread from loooong ago. Goodness what silly-tude! Okra! Rolled in cornmeal, fried! Okra!
Turkey soup making today. Sweet Pea does love the turkey-- she has a little circle dance just for turkey. Even watches the oven til it’s done and would eat until there was a pop! and Sweet Pea pieces everywhere!
Let’s see if coffee will help my sleepy headedness.
Here’s hopin’ Bubba is feelin’ all better StickyBuns.
If it were not for the sacred triad of coffee, iced tea and diet Coke (diet Pepsi works too) I would not make it through the day. Da bear must have caffiene!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! That was awesome! I’m gonna have to tell that one to Sweetie.
I’ve never had okra. I don’t think I’ve ever even seen it before. What does it taste like?
Caffeine doesn’t seem to do me any good. I drink it when I wake up and the only thing that perks me up is that first jolt of OHMYGODIBURNEDMYMOUTH!!! Hell, the first time I ever drank espresso, I followed it up by falling asleep on the sidewalk while waiting for my ride to pick me up. It’s ok though. I like coffee and tea for the taste.
Ashes and Swampy, I just read the okra thread, and I would like the latest [del]juicy gossip[/del] news about Jose and Big Leather Bubba, plus, can’t forget dear old Uncle Hollis and Aunt Thedadelle, bless thier hearts, Did they ever get out of the pokey? And Swampy, you still hear from that National Gaurd fellow?
Well, I’ve been singularly unproductive today. Yay! I did run the dishwasher, and I’m making a couple of quiches for supper, but beyond that, nada.
I had okra once. It was slimy and gross and disgusting. I’m not a fan of fried foods because they give me heartburn. So no okra for me, thanks. No Oprah either.
There’s no edible chocolate in the house. I’ve got a devil’s food cake mix - maybe I’ll throw that together. That’d be productive!
Well, I guess I’m now a surrogate grandpa. Within the last hour, former neighbor Lauren from NC, also known as The Rental Daughter, gave birth to Natalie, who is healthy but lacking in reported baby statistics. I’m sure the details will come later tonight.
We will be headed back to Cottonfield County next weekend to tickle some baby toes.
CatDude, tell ya what. If you do my yard work between chapters, you can live in the shed in my back yard. There’s no electricity or water, but at least the leak in the roof is small!
Cake is in the over and almost done. Pie crusts are standing by to be baked. Then I make quiche fixins. Yum!
