2012 Fantasy Football - general discussion

I don’t think you’re crazy either way, but (as I’m not the first to ask) is it PPR? I think Amendola’s going to be about twice as valuable as his draft price, and in PPR leagues even more.

For what it’s worth, though, Bradford looked at Steve Smith more than Amendola in the preseason. But again, since Lance Moore gets like the fourth most looks on the Saints, either way I think it’s a reasonable decision. I kind of want to start him over Bowe, even, although I won’t. Stupid tiny starting lineups.

Is Richardson starting for certain? If he is, and he’s not 100% healthy, I’d be a little leery of the Philly defense, as well as the fact that there’s a really good chance that the Eagles jump out to an early lead large enough to force the Browns into passing mode, taking carries away from your RB.

As it turned out there really was no wrong answer.

I ended up going with the combo of Gore, Greene, Ridley and Wayne, they went for 23, 17, 26 and 12 respectively. My alternates Peterson, Thomas, Bowe and Floyd have thus far scored 21, 22 and 2 with Floyd left to go on MNF.

Bowe was my last option so that wasn’t really a factor. Thomas is still playing and Floyd still could go off for 25 tomorrow night. I’m up 60 points with my opponent only having Ray Rice left to play so at least for week 1 I’m the juggernaut of this league.

Well, everything I read before today said to sit AP, so I did. 80+ yds rushing and 2 TD. Instead, I went with Ingram, who had maybe 15 yards. :frowning:

Had more luck with other positions, though. Peyton, Moore, Graham, and Saints D all posted 20+ fantasy points. I’ve got Rivers, Anquan Boldin, and 11 points against Ray Rice on Monday night for the win. Feeling pretty good about my chances.

I’m going against Rice in like 5 leagues tomorrow. We can root together.

Thomas had a very good game, but Bowe blew. I had him penciled in as my WR3 this season, but my rookie Alshon Jeffrey looked pretty good so I’m not too concerned.

Anyone using Yahoo! to manage their league? The scoring is all wrong this morning for us. Anyone else?

THANK YOU!

I was just coming in to ask this.

Gostkowski is currently listed at 0 points, despite 2 short FG’s and 4 PAT.

Big Ben also has less points than he should, he isn’t credited with his two passing TD’s.
And now that I look closer, Aaron Hernandez is also missing his receiving TD…WTF, Yahoo? One of my defensive players also is listed at 0 points despite having several tackles.

Edit: Yeah, a little searching shows several postings on Yahoo’s help board about it…what’s weird is the guy I was matched up against didn’t have any problems…all his TD’s, FG’s, tackles, sacks, etc… were getting him points.

I’m noticing the same thing.

Yep, a couple of touchdowns by Alfred Morris disappeared. I just assumed it was because he was possessed by aliens or was actually Clinton Portis making a comeback. You know, Occam’s Razor.

Yahoo! has this posted now:

So, it turns out you were, but mostly because Devery Henderson got hurt, so don’t beat yourself up. I don’t think it’s very accurate to say Amendola is the Rams’ “only real receiver”, though. His best season was three years ago and he posted ~700 yards.

I’m wondering if Henderson has a concussion. That was a brutal shot to the head…

I’m almost certain it was a stinger. The trainers were asking him to move his hands and feet and checking reflexes - more consistent with a neck injury.

It also looked more like one on replay.

So I’ve got a draft tomorrow (standard scoring, 10 team league) and I’m thinking that now that we know Peyton is for real that I’d make a play for Damariyus Thomas.

So what’s the best round to take him in? I don’t know where I’m drafting (randomized before we start), but is still flying under the radar?

His ADP was at the end of the 6th round (in a ten team league), but after yesterday, you may have to move him up a round or even two if you really want him.

My only concern is that 71 yards and his TD came on one play, a quick pass he got at the line of scrimmage and that Troy Polamalu laughingly misplayed and gave him a TD. I don’t see that kind of thing happening every game. I still like Decker a bit more, but they’re really close.

Well, I won all three games this week - but I also scored the least amount of points amongst all winners in all three leagues. This certainly won’t last long…

True, either you’ll start scoring better or you’ll start losing. Have confidence that it’s the first that happens.

In 5 leagues, 5 1-0 starts. In the league I care most about (for fiscal reasons) I beat the second highest scoring team by 13 points. I imagine he’s cursing his luck in playing the highest scoring team the first week, I know I do when I’m on the other side of things. My team in that league is not the best and I know it. It’s going to be a waiver wire team trying to pick up on injury replacements and guesses on who’ll get hot at the right time. Usually doesn’t work, but it saved my butt last year when I ran out of healthy running backs and won me the league.

I thought I’d do well with an underrated-but-solid RB core of Fred Jackson and Steven Jackson. Fred sprained his LCL and Steve lost two of his linemen. In Week 1.

Looks like I’ll be playing Doug Martin and Ced Benson the rest of the season.

Fucking Thursday night games. Fuck the NFL for screwing with my fantasy teams.
