2012 NFC North Discussion Thread

Not if there’s any such thing as karma. I won’t say “hate”, but I strongly, strongly dislike the guy, and always have.

He certainly isnt doing anything to earn it. Its like the 49ers are competing to see who mails in the game more.

Titus Young got shit-canned finally. Can’t say I’m sorry to see him go, But it does still offend my sense of justice that being an ass to get out works, and there is nothing a team can do about it, except spite themselves. Well, and the wasted early draft pick, but we’re pretty used to those, and we did get 20 or so decent games from the guy which is better than average.

Do you think anyone would take a chance on Young? Does he need a change of environment?

Other players with, let’s call them maturity issues, don’t necessarily have a problem in Detroit. I think it was mostly on Young. Deliberately lining up wrong and talking bad about your teammates isn’t just a “change of environment” issue, it’s a “I’m a head case” issue. That being said, he’ll likely get another shot somewhere.

Congrats also to Dave Robinson finally making the Hall of Fame as well. Packers fans’ attention now turn to getting Jerry Kramer in the Hall before he dies now that the perceived embargo on further Lombardi era players getting into the Hall has been broken. Something of a sad footnote, in an interview he said all the major formative people in his past (wife, Lombardi, Joe Paterno, Phil Bengston, his position coach with the Packers) are dead now and can’t give his introductory speech in August. :frowning:

and strike two…
less then 10 days with a team before being cut, that is a man dedicated to the shithead process.

And the Titus Young “how to destroy your life in 24 months” book has another chapter.

He is looking like a prime death pool candidate with his total lack of judgement or self control, “Fought with officers” seems like just a step toward “shot by officers” or “stabbed by fellow inmate”.

What a clusterfuck that guy is. Bet Detroit is feeling great about dodging that bullet.

Although maybe Chicago can pick him up to replace Sam Hurd.

So, the big story around Chicago is that Gabe Carimi has decided to skip voluntary OTAs, the only player to do so. Probably not a smart move when your team invests 2 draft picks and 3 FAs in your position group over an offseason while replacing the coaching staff.

So, there’s only a couple scenarios which could make this logical.

  1. Carimi is physically not right, and maybe had another procedure we don’t know about, and is in the middle of rehabbing his knee.
  2. Carimi has talked to the organization and they already told him he’s the odd man out come the start of camp.

Neither makes it likely that the Bears can expect anything good from him this season, which is a shame because he seemed like a decent player for about 2 games before his injury. It also seems likely that he’s a bit of a headcase and hasn’t responded to adversity at all.

Of course there’s the possibility that this decision is entirely illogical and Carimi will come back in great shape and blow the Eben Brittons and James Browns of the world off the roster in spite of it, but that’s a pretty tough sell.
