2014 College Football General Thread

ROFL, heard about that. He may be polite, but he possesses a certain naivete (I’ll stick with this word choice) to speed on that road at that place at that time of night. Guaranteed citation.

Thanks for sharing the vid.

I am under the impression that the first round of an 8-team playoff would be at the higher seeds’ home stadiums. The only way this might be changed is if, in the first year, at least two of the games end up being Ice Bowls.

Glad to see the Ducks will be in the playoff. Does anybody think they’d be in the championship game if FSU and Bama win today, and we were still under the BCS?

Some team would have been left out.

The BCS was much better than the previous system of polls only, but it was still seriously flawed due to only 2 spots when frequently there are around 4 teams that seem similar (sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less).

WOOT! Go Cowboys! Grats OSU!

It looks like Ohio State is going to have to count on Florida State losing. An FSU ugly win coupled with an OSU blowout of a pretty darn good Wisconsin team might also do it.

Or, hell, Baylor winning big with FSU and OSU looking mediocre could change things. It’s going to be a channel flipping evening.

OK, enough of the FSU propaganda from NFM.

GO YELLOWJACKETS!!!

But I think if FSU loses, they still should be ranked higher than a one loss tOSU.

When you say WISC - CON - SIN…You said it all.

GO BADGERS

You have no idea how weird it looks to see a starting quarterback for OSU at this point of the season with no buckeyes on his helmet.

Oh, I guess he’s got a few on the camera off-side.

Add one more.

Whose bowl bid did they just take away with that win?

Edit: Ugh, that did not format very well. 5 minutes is not enough time to edit it all

The B1G already has more bowl eligible teams than tie-ins, the talking heads were predicting someone would be on the outside looking in from that conferece too. There are something like 81 bowl eligible teams for 76 spots.

TCU has got to be sweating bullets. FSU is by 9 with 4 mins left, and Ohio State is absolutely KILLING Wisconsin.

And Baylor… You know the co-conference champion that beat them head to head? They just beat #9 K State.

TBH, I don’t think Baylor really has a shot since they are ranked #6.

How does a head to head victory not matter? If Baylor doesn’t have a shot then there is no reason TCU should have one.

Because the committee thinks TCU is a better team in general?

Go 'Noles!

I’m no FSU fan, but I don’t understand why that last GaTech TD wasn’t reviewed. Looked like his knee hit the one yard line before the ball hit the pylon.

IMO, the most impressive performance this weekend was from OSU. I have it Alabama, Oregon, FSU, and Pickem, in that order.

FSU wins and basically clinches a playoff spot (A power 5 conference team that goes undefeated… no chance they are excluded)

My 2 cents:
FSU: Undefeated in a power conference, especially one with a conf champ - that’s an automatic, even if they did squeak them out

Alabama and Oregon: both with 1 loss and each handled their conf champ gam easily - these two should be in

Ohio State - Dominated against a good team

Both TCU and Baylor didn’t have to play a conf champ game and neither one did anything impressive - TCU beat a loser and Baylor beat but did not dominate a good team
I would give it to Ohio State
