2015 College Football Omnibus Thread

never mind

Rutgers is a mess. 5 players involved in av assault case. I know it’s all about the money and getting the Big 10 network into NYC, but Rutgers really doesn’t belong in the Big 10.

I’m watching the USC-UNC lead in. It’s obvious what the main focus of this game is: how will both of these teams cope with not having Jim Harbaugh on their sidelines?

Make your own thread (and in the Pit or GD) if you want to hash stuff out this yet again, please.

Go Cocks, I guess. A nerve wracking win but a W nonetheless. Skai Moore is the Hiesman front runner for the next 24 hours or so.

Care to put some money on it?

Let’s hope Rutgers and the Big Ten address this quickly and appropriately. I’m guessing that coach has to go and will before long. I preferred 12 teams in the Big Ten, but the two additions are fine by me. Getting the NY market will be good for recruiting, perhaps much more for basketball than other sports. That both schools are AAU members is actually more important and a big plus.

Let me be the first to say it: Fire Harbaugh!

I should have passed on the last couple of beers last night but it felt so good to tease the loudmouth Michigan fans at work this morning…

… not after last night. Holman still hasn’t figured out touch passing. And the defense is bad. And the game management was fucking awful.

Hey, that sounds like an opponent the Gamecocks could beat! Looking forward to going to the UK, Vandy and UCF games. The rest of the FBS games could get ugly!

I just noticed something odd about South Carolina’s uniforms and helmets: they don’t include the word “South” or the letter “S”.

Doesn’t USCe acknowledge the existence of that state on their northern border?

I guess they figure when people see the players wearing pads and cleats instead of shorts and hightop sneakers they’ll be able to figure out what’s going on.

I’ve always had a soft spot for “the other USC.” Stopped in Columbus on a Spring Break trip once and nearly got arrested for taking compromising pictures with the Strom Thurmond statue in front of the capitol building. Also picked up a Cocks hat which I still lament the loss of (left it in a bar).

Is O’Leary stepping down for sure after this season?

Go Dawgs! Georgia run game looked good. Not that happy with the secondary.

Gut wrenching loss for UW last night. Had a chance to sneak out a win or at least head to OT and a penalty/bad sack screwed it all up.

Ole Miss sure looked explosive!

That fourth down TD in the Ole Miss game with Ole Miss ahead 48-3 made me think; if they tried something like have the QB put the ball out of the end zone (UTM’s ball on the 20; it doesn’t lower the regular punter’s average; no real harm done), would that send some sort of signal to the NCAA that maybe somebody on Ole Miss had some money on “under” and they were trying to shave points?

Little-known fact: point shaving is against the NCAA bylaws (and results in immediate loss of all remaining eligibility); running up the score is not.

No. But he’s the interim athletic director now, and Brent Key’s head-coach-in-waiting appointment is the worst kept secret in college football, so the pieces are in place if he wants to.

UCLA is looking dominant. True freshman Rosen is 28/35 for 350 with 2 TDs. The defense is physical and dominant. Cant wait to see how this season plays out.

Omg byu!!! Thanks autocorrect for not letting me all caps that.

Some very strange Pac-12 results so far. Cal scores 70, Stanford loses. Utah!

Waiting for the “big” game later tonight.
