I bet the Saints grab Parker, but personally I prefer Strong. We’ll see, seems like WR is a no brainer.
What does that even mean? What other picks the Browns have made would you compare him to?
The Browns usually get good grades for their draft, meaning they get good value based on pre-draft public perception, it’s just that the players are rarely as people thought.
I wonder what the record is for lack of draft-day trades in this decade is.
I thought I would be OK if the 49ers traded back, but I really want DeVante Parker now, or at least a top CB. Ahhhhhhhh
How is Brees going to throw over Peat?
Totally agree, shocked there hasn’t been any trades to speak of. Maybe it’s because the picks have gone somewhat chalk so far, at least as far as tiers go.
13th Pick - Andrus Peat - New Orleans Saints
This is the first pick that I don’t really know much about. Can’t really hate them grabbing what’s probably the top 1 or 2 OLs left on the board generally speaking. WR seems like the richest position in this draft so maybe people aren’t valuing the second tier WRs very much. I have watched Humphries a fair bit and I really like his upside. He’s one of my dream scenarios for the Bears 2nd round pick.
Sign Randy or Santana to throw to.
They’ll get good grades for Shelton too. But I’m telling you he’s the DL version of Johnny Manziel, all sizzle, no steak. It’s like the Browns build their draft board based on what bloggers and Mel Kiper say.
We have our first trade! Bout damn time
49ers trade down to San Diego.
Hah, so not only do they draft a RB in the middle of the first round, they pay two extra picks to do it. The GMs who get the good undrafted guys each year are just sitting in their war rooms laughing.
The 49ers add San Diego’s 4th Rounder, #117, and a 2016 5th Rounder.
Sigh. I hate to see Cooper go to such a dysfunctional franchise. ![]()
14 picks before a trade is the longest in the modern draft era according to whomever Shefter just quoted in his tweet
In their defense, Melvin Gordon has the potential to be kinda a big deal. A fourth rounder this year and a fifth next isn’t insanely overpaying to move up two spots to get the only non- injured first round talent RB.
Of course, I like Tevin Coleman and David Cobb, so I’d probably be waiting on a RB if I were in charge.
Please be Peters and not fucking Armstead.
14th Pick - DeVante Parker - Miami Dolphins
I prefer Strong over Parker but he’s an excellent player. The Dolphins need help at WR and this is a nice combo of value + need.
15th Pick - Melvin Gordon - San Diego Chargers
Love this pick. Still a little tough to argue for a RB in the 1st round, but Gordon probably is good enough to justify it and the Chargers desperately need help at RB. Great value, great pick. They traded up to get him, so finally our first trade, still haven’t seen what they gave up. If it’s a lot it’ll be a problem considering it is a RB after all.
16th Pick - Kevin Johnson - Houston Texans
A very good pick, if Clowney and Watt ever end up being a fearsome pass rush Johnson could end up feasting on easy wounded ducks. My guy Peters is still on the board but a lot of people preferred Johnson over Waynes. We’ll see.
I like this pick. The Saints really need help on the O-line, and I think this guy may come in and start at left tackle. He appears to be a mobile/finesse type player, which would work well with the way the Saints tend to move their line around…
Hehehe
Can we call this Gary’s Curse?
There is nobody I am even slightly enthusiastic about for the Lions at 23 left. I hope against hope they can pull off a Belichek and get an early second + package for it.
