17th Pick - Arik Armstead - San Fransisco 49ers
The Niners look to get a replacement for Justin Smith. Armstead isn’t that but I really like him. He was mocked to the Bears in the second round a lot so some might see this as a reach, but I really like him as a player. I worry a little about his ability to hold the edge against the run in the NFL, but he’s long.

No, fuck no. God damn it.

Did Baalke put a name in an envelope again? Worthless bust that we’ll be debating with Kentwan Balmer in a few years.

I gotta go walk my dog and cool off.

Who is the best available Duck? Philly is up soon.

Well, Browns could pick a late first round QB that no one else wants here. That usually works well for them.
Strong, I guess? Bud Dupree? Fuck if I know. I’m inclined not to reach for the 4th best QB prospect yet again.

With the Chiefs on the clock I’m guessing it’ll be an OL, probably Humphries. The Chiefs still need a bunch of help at WR so I wouldn’t rule out Strong.

Good, I’m glad to see the “character issue” CB is gone before the Lions can be tempted.

Gotta be Strong.

I was about to post and ask everyone if they thought that someone would reach into the back of the first round to take the 3rd QB. I doubt it, don’t think there’s a tall, strong arm guy that people love.

18th Pick - Marcus Peters - Kansas City Chiefs
And the Chiefs surprise me and take who I have as the top corner in the draft. Awesome selection. Weird that “my guys” aren’t slipping this year. Usually I’m on an island with some of these guys on page 2 and 3 of the draft trackers. The Chiefs might miss not getting a OL or WR here, but Peters might be BPA right here.

You guys like Strong at WR over Devin Smith or Dorsett?

Jake Fisher might not be a reach here. The Eagles don’t really need a OT but Fisher is a pretty awesome option. He’s on my Bears 2nd round wishlist.

Strong is no more than a decent possession guy. He reminds me of not-quite-total 49ers bust JJ Stokes.

Browns pick a Nose Tackle and a Center in the 1st Round. Talk about building from the inside out.

I’m hoping they take a RB but that’s probably wishful thinking…

The commissioner said guard, but everywhere lists him as center. What’s the deal with that?

I guess they know Mack is gone. It sucks having to spend a first round pick to replace one of the few strong positions on your team anyway. This is the third Browns first round center in 12 years.

I believe he played tackle for a few years then moved to center last year after an injury. He’s pretty versatile.

Well I don’t even know where he’s going to play. I guess he’s Mack’s replacement, but this year we spent a first round pick on a backup interior OL, because he’s not going to be better than any of the starting 5, who are actually very good. It’s great to have a versatile 6th lineman, but you don’t usually spend top 20 picks to get them.

I do. Love the way Strong uses his body to shield off defenders. Michael Irvin compared him to Rob Moore and I think that’s pretty apt. Smith is interesting but a little too much of a homerun type guy, not sure he actually knows how to play the position. But I said that about Beckham…

19th Pick - Cameron Erving - Cleveland Browns
Eeeesh. The Browns are just trying to kill their fans. Erving is only good at the Center position and thee Browns have the highest paid Center in the league. This is simply a idiotic pick for every possible reason, need, value, skill etc.

When you see people talk about WR and “good route running,” look at Agholor. AMAZING feet and agility.

He played Tackle and Guard…he wasn’t a draftable player until he played Center. He’s not NFL caliber anywhere else on the line. Just an awful, awful pick.

Dammit, the Eagles picked the guy I was hoping would go to the Panthers. They could still pick a speed WR to compliment Benjamin or Humphries would be ok too.
