Shouldn’t UC Davis have been, like, playing defense or something?
Not sure if you watched the game Ponch8. For little, and I mean “little”, UC Davis would have had to do to Kansas what Villanova did to Georgetown in 1985.
Hear are some video links of that game. The upset of upsets and I watched that game here. Freak’in place was packed and went bat shit crazy at the end. Good Times.
For my main bracket:
My South bracket is perfect: 8 out of 8 games called correctly.
My West bracket is likewise commendable: 6 out of 8 games called correctly, with the only losses being my VCU and Bucknell picks. But I didn’t have them going any further anyway, so not much loss there.
My Midwest bracket has issues. Only picked 5 winners, and I had Creighton going to the Sweet 16.
My East bracket is a dumpster fire. Only picked 5 winners and *two *of my Sweet 16 teams are toast (SMU and UNCW). And I had SMU going to the Elite 8! Aaaak!
Mountaineers on to the Sweet 16!!!
Woohoo! Not only did Notre Dame get eliminated, but I’ve climbed out of the cellar!
And my bracket made it all the way to the second game of day 3 this year before it died.
We have “Hoops for Hunger” at work – people fill out brackets and there is a party Thursday afternoon. There are prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 19th, 36th and 47th place. Entry fee is food and/or donation to local food bank.
When I left Friday afternoon, I was 10/15. (tied for 60 somethingth place) I know I did not pick Wisconsin to win, because the games I saw this season they did not play well. Oh well, I’m happy in either case (either Wisconsin wins and I’m happy, or they lose and I’m happy I picked right). I know almost nothing about basketball, choosing semi-randomly (usually for the favorite – if they lose it is the seeders fault )

Anyone besides me think the Field of 64 and 32 has kinda sucked this year? Yeah a handful of good games and some upsets. But also a lot of blowouts and other than USC Im having a hard time identifying a true “Cinderella” school no one has ever heard of ripping up everyones brackets.
Even with Middle Tennessee State everyone and his brother seemed to predict they would beat Minnesota and then they fizzled out versus Butler.
Hopefully Saturday will bring some big surprises, but so far March Madness has been less then “mad”, for me anyway.

The Gators whipped Virginia’s buttocks 65-39 to advance to the Sweet 16! Virginia was such a pushover, I couldn’t stop laughing at them the entire second half.
Villanova - first #1 out. Anyone pick that?!
Villanova’s loss was major …
86 percent of brackets had it making the Sweet 16.
74 percent of brackets had it making the Elite Eight.
41 percent of brackets had it making the Final Four.
26 percent of brackets had it making the national title game.
13 percent of brackets had it winning the national title (second-most picked behind UNC).
Well crap. Half of my Final Four gone already.
I’m sure you are not alone.
ho boy, there goes Duke.

Looking good so far for my bracket…and how about those DUCKS!! plucky comeback against Rhode Island (and how are they not the “Reds”?). Nice work by Arizona and UCLA too, repping the Conference of Champions. On to Week Two!
And Rhode Island was an 11th seed (Whew!). Many of the lower ranked schools were impressive this tournament.
One thing that struck me yesterday - there have been a few very close games, but not one overtime game yet.
Well, I’m pretty well busted. Best I can hope for at this point is for UCLA to make the finals and lose. My PPR is down to 600. Thing is, I’m still second in my pool at work by total points, though others still have much higher PPR.
UK v UCLA is going to be an epic game (if the UK that can shoot decides to show, that is).
