It looks as if I will be mailing Thursday instead of tomorrow. The handmade thing is progressing more quickly than I expected. Will still be in two boxes though, mailed on the same day.

My package is wrapped and addressed. Off to the PO tomorrow when I run a few more errands. I forgot to put my username inside, but it’s on the return address on the envelope, so not a total mystery. Unless it gets messed up…

I almost did the same thing! In fact I completely forgot niceties like a card and wrapping paper, though I did manage to scribble a note to tuck into the box while I was at the Post Office.
So if you receive a package from Carol in Hawai’i, and you want to put the gift under your Christmas tree to open on Christas, DON’T OPEN the mailing box. You’ll see the stuff inside, not wrapping paper. I is dum. Sorry about that!
Mine only has who it is from on the inside, so go ahead and open it up.
Besides, while I am sure that I gave it enough Purina Monkey Chow for the trip, My Beloved isn’t absolutely sure she punched some air holes in the box.

I have shipped with an estimated delivery date of 12/16/24. May the postal gods be in all of our favor.
USPS says the package I mailed this morning will reach its destination on Tuesday. Much as people complain about the cost of postage, the fact that this gift is traveling as far as it is right to the door of the recipient in less than a week for under $10 seems to be a pretty good deal to me. And yes, I remember when stamps were 6¢ and penny candy really cost a penny, but back in those days computers were monsters that filled entire rooms and didn’t do a fraction of what we can do on our phones today and there were no cell phones or internet or Alexa, so your argument is invalid!

I mailed to my recipient today, two packages. There was an issue, the zip code I got did not fit with the address. The postal clerk looked some stuff up and changed the zip. So I hope the two boxes get to their destination safely.
I’ve hit some snags and will be tardy again this year, but I did the P.M. with my details.
I received my gift yesterday! I haven’t opened it yet, but I wanted my Santa to know that it arrived safely.

I’m with you. I actually bought the gifts last week but haven’t been able to get to the Post Office. It’s been a very busy week. I will try tomorrow but otherwise, it will be Tuesday because we’re at medical appointments for most of the day on Monday.
I like to think that folks understand that life just happens at times.
Due to no running water for three days and then the window installation, I’m pretty happy that I managed to get my package shipped when I did.
For purplehorseshoe’s Secret…she was my Santa once and I’m here to tell you that she sends a wonderful box full of fun that is very well worth waiting for.
I sure do. I’m completely swamped right now because [reasons, boring but true]. I would not for a moment judge anyone who needs a bit more time. It’s pure luck that I found a moment to get my SS package out when I did, as the s**t has REALLY hit the fan since then - I don’t expect to have time to shop or go to the PO for another 4-5 days at least and by then a package would not arrive by Xmas.
And I don’t think my crazy-busy situation is special at all; a lot of other Dopers are probably in the same boat if not worse.
