Package is on the way. In a typical oops when I was rushing to get it out the door before an ice storm started, I left something behind. So I added something else.
I did GET the p.m. with my details.
Sheeesh.
“I did the P.M.” sounds like some really old-fashioned dance, like “I did the Mashed Potato.”
( “… I can do the Twist!”
)
Anyway, my most likely shopping day will be Monday, which means … { checks work schedule } it should hopefully be on its way by next Thursday.
Way to dial up the pressure!
I will say, though, that I finally peeked at who I’m gifting, and was super excited. I think I can put together something fun.
… giftee may hafta be patient, though.
Sometime the middle of next week I’ll PM the person I’m sending to, that is if I haven’t seen a notice of it’s arrival. Two boxes actually. I forgot to pit a card and the note I intended to explain a couple of the items. Also, since there was an issue with the zip code I want to be sure it DOES arrive.
According to the tracking number the person I sent it to should get it tomorrow.
You sent our cats a sheet of mylar wrapping paper to play with. That became their favorite toy eveh for a couple of days. It was GREAT and I still remember it after all those years!
USPS tracking says my recipient will also receive her package tomorrow.
My package will go out tomorrow, which I think is record early for me. It’s not going far, so it should definitely get there before Christmas.
Just one update!
And to my SS sender - I still haven’t opened my gifts, but I will tonight!
My SS recipient should get their package today.

I wish to announce that I have just returned home, having successfully procured what I hope will be a pleasing array.
(Not gonna lie, I am soooper excited about what I got - my giftee was an “easy shop” this year.)
Tomorrow, I’ll try to snag an appropriate sized box at work (it’ll be delivery day at the pizza joint where I work, we’ll be surrounded by boxes anyway) so my gift will most likely be whisked away by Santa’s reindeer on Thursday.
So, probably won’t make ezzactly the Xmas deadline, but close? … and hopefully will bring enough cheer to enact forgiveness for the tardiness.
… yeah, this was a shameless bump to keep this thread visible.
USPS says my recipient should receive tomorrow.
USPS says mine will receive by 9:00 p.m. today!
USPS also says that mine will be delivered today as well.
I sent one pepperoni roll to my SS and have another in a zip-lok bag on my counter as a control. It is still soft and still looks yummy, so I’m hoping hers will arrive in decent shape.
Nothing was wrapped, but at least I remembered to put a card in this year.
Maybe next year I can get it right. Prezzies wrapped, card included and shipped in time to make it before xmas.
Oh boy! I just got my SS gift from @JaneDoe42 and wow, it was really something - a range of delightful treats including homemade ginger cookies (and some kind of peanut butter swirl), Mexican goodies (taco mix, refried beans, and diced chilis) and to top it all off, a locally made salsa from West Virginia.
But that’s not all! There was also a family recipe for chili rellenos so I can use the Mexican stuff, AND - this was just the thing - a pepperoni roll (which arrived in good shape, no worries about it getting stale).
We had a power outage today because solar panels are being installed, which meant I couldn’t get much work done, so I decided to go along with my spouse when he decided to run some errands (including a trip to the post office). As a result of my impulsive decision to join him, I ate no lunch. And then I was HUNGRY.
Ergo, finding the pepperoni roll and cookies in the SS gift was perfect. I had a very yummy lunch. Thank you, Jane Doe!
I am so happy that you are happy!
That was a potato and peanut butter pinwheel, they are also a West Virginia thing.
I’m glad the pepperoni roll wasn’t stale and that you had a nice lunch!
I hope you enjoy your Mexican dinner when you are able to make it and again, I am so happy that you are happy.
Ruh-roh. was I supposed to sign my name on it? I thought secret meant sending anonymously
I don’t know the rules on SS identification by real name.
I think we would all be given the IRL name of the person we are sending a gift to, to be sure it arrives.
As to putting your real name on your outgoing gifts, I guess that is up to you.
Well, SOMEbody is gonna gush about the goodies you sent, so it’ll all get worked out one way or another.
Okay, I’ve sent the package! Everything within is wrapped in red-and-white striped paper. Keep looking – I had to crumple up some calendar pages for insulation.
And I got my package! Thank you, Czarcasm and Mrs. Czarcasm!
Four exquisite scented candles in fall fragrances. (The Cinnamon Clove one is burning as we speak.) A pair of adorable lavender earrings. A pack of really nice pencils and erasers. And a copy of the Oregon Symphony magazine (I must have mentioned being a symphony-goer at some point on the boards) and the Northern Peninsula newsletter. Now that’s cool, because where I am now is known as the Northern Panhandle* of my state! (There’s a crossword puzzle on the back.) And a sweet card with a prancing, jingle-bell-wearing reindeer! Thanks again so much! Merry Christmas.
*It’s not a panhandle; it’s a stovepipe, like Idaho’s. But ‘panhandle’ sounds cooler, I guess, so everyone says ‘northern panhandle’.
My Beloved made those earrings just for you.
