We love you, you czrcastic bastard.
Wish I could give you a hug. Yes, let us know how ever we can help.
(And you were my Secret Santa. Thanks again for that.)
Here’s hoping they got out. I’m sorry this happened to you.
I haven’t opened my prezzies yet because we spent the day in the ER and are currently waiting discharge papers. I thought my day sucked, but yours was so much worse.
I wish this was April Fool’s day and you’re kidding. No words for the care and tenderness I feel for you and yours. I wish you the best and hope you can give us an update when you’re able ,and let us know how / if we can help.
Please let us know what you need. I have to search to see if I still have your address from the latest shotglass exchange. I hope the cats turn up.
Family had a wonderful dinner at my place. My main food contributions were the ham, which was much bigger than I figured and gives a LOT of leftovers, and the croissants I made. There was a large cake, gooseberry, cherry, and rhubarb pies, and muffins. Green bean casserole, seasoned green beans, mashed potatos and gravy, potato, cheese and brocolli casserole, layered lettuce salad(MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE), something pink with Jello and marshmallows that was tasty, and I’m probably forgetting things.
I’ve always said family dinners prove the miracle of the loaves and fishes. People seem to take home almost as much as they brought.
We talked, played cards, and had a wonderful time. One thing in life I’m greatful for is that our family doesn’t have major disagreements. No politics are discussed, and we don’t drink. Well, we are not tee totalers but booze is rarely had at out dinners. Wine once in a while, or champagne.
After everyone was gone I sat down in my recliner and a couple hours later woke up from a food coma. Time to do the dishes, everything else was cleaned up before my sister and BIL left.
How overwhelming. Everything you need to start to fix the situation is in the house.
I am so very sorry to learn this. If I can possibly help, let me know.
Just be careful, if it starts showing some pink in it; pink & purple dragons grow up to be very, very, very large!
I have a friend who makes soaps by hand. We got some ‘leftovers’; multicolored ‘scraps’ all combined into a single bar. She apologized profusely because of what they were. I asked her for more of them as I had never seen speckled soap like that before, it’s always one color or another, not four or five in one bar.
I’m so very sorry for how Czarcasm and JaneDoe42 had to spend their Christmases.
Oh my gosh! I just came back to this thread and that’s awful. For both of you, but especially Czarcasm! I assume you’ve already contacted you insurance company, but if not, do that asap. And ask if your coverage includes an allowance for temporary housing.
For those who have not yet received their gift, one of you should receive your package today. Apologies for the late delivery.
Holy shit, Czarcasm, I am so, so sorry about your house and everything. Especially your cats. I mean, I’m just so upset for you. I can’t even express it.
JaneDoe42, I hope your are doing better.
The gift I sent shows as having been delivered on the 18th.
I keep hoping, but the USPS may have fouled things up.
Sweetie, no one should have to live without kitty coasters. More will be on the way, along with my best wishes as well as some virtual hugs.
The"AWWWWWW!!!" I have is too big to fit in this post!
YES it was received, i opened it Wednesday. You were too generous. Thank you!
@Nayna - @Rhiannon8404 gave me a cool Edward Gorey card, with a delicious bag of handmade roasted nuts (the best! ), a box of many looseleaf teas (omg!
), two absolutely beautiful crystal dragonflies, a pouch of wildflower seeds… Honestly, one of the best presents i have received in my life. Thank you!
We really do want to help if we can.
A Secret Santa box delayed is even better during bad times. Today I was thrilled to open the nicely wrapped prezzies despite Jolene taking all of the toys first. They keep moving all over the house which tells me that they are enjoying them.
I enjoyed the very nice handmade? card and love the Christmas star. The Yinz coozie and definition was much fun and the little bowl will be treasured for years to come. The Chocolate covered pretzel will not be shared!
Thank you again so much for such a lovely box and for organizing this again.
Went to Kroger this morning and when I returned, I spied…with my little eye…a box on the porch!
Yay, it was from my Secret Santa. Oh my gosh, what a GREAT box full of gifts wrapped in sparkly tissue.
I really liked the card. The front was of a gingerbread boy who had a bite taken out of him. Inside was the sweetest sentiments. Touched my heart
First gift unwrapped was dark chocolate See’s candy - I love it! My Dad would buy See’s candy for my Mom for their anniversary every year. Not sure if he was able to buy it here in the Mitten or if he had to ask his sister (who lived in Loma Linda) to send some to him.
Second gift I unwrapped was Yardley English Lavender nourishing bath bar - this is great! Our daughter hasn’t given me any lavender soap since 2022 so I’m very happy to receive this.
Third gift was a mini book titled “Nevertheless, She Persisted~” This is so perfect! Our daughter and I love Liz! So much that our daughter has this tattooed on her left inner forearm.
The last gift was a magnet of California, brightly painted with enamel paint of seagulls, a palm tree, the sun, the Pacific, a dolphin and labeled Laguna Beach. I really like this for a number of reasons. 1) it’s not a vacation unless I spend some time at/along the water, 2) we took our daughter and her best friend when they were in middle school to swim with dolphins, 3) our daughter’s best friend, they were each other’s Maids of Honor, lives in Ladera Ranch and she frequents Laguna Beach on a regular basis, 4) it was made in Mexico and NOT China.
Thank you so very much Secret Santa. Since there is one other person who hasn’t indicated she’s received her package yet, I’m not going to reveal who my Secret Santa is just yet so Baker can still be wondering.
I have questions …
