2024 Secret Santa is on!

Good to meet you. Come to the MMP and hang out and discuss the weather with us all

Someone not only loves boxes, she is a thief!

And a very fierce looking thief, I’m not willing to try to take that wonderful toy away from her!

What a lovely gift, thank you so much!

Sorry, it’s taken me so long to post but I have been very busy since the package came. Work, baking cookies to take to work, attending seasonal events, and trying to sleep. You know.

So, having received not one, but two packages from Baker, I did not delay on opening the one marked Fra-gee-lay, so I knew it came from Italy. Okay, it said Fragile and it came from Kansas but the sticker reminded me of the scene from A Christmas Story when the dad receives his Major Award.

Baker, did you know maroon and gold are also the colors of my alma mater, the University of Minnesota? Plus, I love sunflower nuts and dark chocolate so these jewel-toned treats will be enjoyed. Plus, a big, big mug with a cheerful sunflower to hold lots of tea just for me. And a bottle of local barbecue sauce. Did you read through my posting history to discover that I rate Kansas City barbecue tops on my list? Lastly, I received an ornament-y tree gnome which is now proudly trying to weigh down a Monstera vine branch.

Now, about that second box. That’s waiting for Christmas Day. So I have something to look forward to besides work that day.

Thank you @Baker !

So glad you like it! Since you said you are a foodie I think you will enjoy the second box. After you have opened it I will give more on it’s background.

I have been absent due to work hectic-ness.

But I just opened another a moment ago … a lovely red and white kerchief very lightweight & silky feeling.
(Not gonna lie, I was sssoooooo hoping for new headwraps! Thank you!!)

Have already tried it on, it’s gonna be fabulous during the hot summer months ahead.

… and I love anything with international tags on 'em, I get to read in Polish and pretend I’m still fluent.

I counted, the rest of your gifts are all safely in the box. Imma save 'em for tomorrow, so I have gifts to open for the Big Day.

Oh, yeah. That is a fierce guardian of toys.

You’re welcome! That leaves six more. Enjoy!

Just got the package. How wonderful!! The ornament is so delicate and pretty and I’m a huge animal lover (small ones, too) so the polar bear card is giving me much joy. What I really love about the candle is that it can also represent Yule, and I’ll be bringing it to the family gathering tomorrow. It’s all so thoughtful and I thank you very much!

I don’t know who my sender is but when it comes I’ll mention it. Don’t want anyone to think I am not greatful.

Tracking on mine says it’s “In Transit.”

… and then there were five.

I waited till ezzactly the stroke of midnight to open the next one: a whole entire BAR of dark chocolate from the same Sarris co. that made the delicious pretzels I already enjoyed earlier.

Yum!

What a great way to start Christmas!

Merry Christmas, everyone!

My next choice was the smallest package.

Unwrapped a circular disc very helpfully labeled “SOAP” and that, y’all, absolutely made me cackle.

It smells lovely @Rilchiam  I shall be clean and sweetly scented.

I held out a lot of self-control so far, but with presents, like potato chips & M&Ms, you really can’t just have one.

So I opened the next-smallest gift, and discovered … a PURPLE baby dragon!!

It’s so cute, just halfway hatching out of its dragonscale egg.

(There’s a serial number on the back, not sure what that means.)

I love that my home is filled with objects from this Christmas, and Secret Santa exchanges past, all with deep sentimental value … many of them purple.

Photographic proof of purple bebeh:

Ehrmahgawd. Next was a pair of gorgeous :purple_heart:earrings, I squealed like a little girl.

I cannot WAIT to wear these to work … so fancy!!

ETA: two (2) packages left. Let’s see how long I can hold out.

Oh yeah, about that. A few years ago, I found, in the attic, a bag containing dozens and dozens of hotel soaps. Most too dried out to use, so I repurposed them. Ground them up in the food processor, heated some milk on the stove, stirred in the soap shards and poured it all into gelatin molds. They’re okay, but it’s looking like I won’t live long enough to use all of them, so I’m giving them away when I can.

(I added the helpful post-it note because you also have the two chocolate items, and one never knows. And that’s the peace-sign one you’ve got! There’s also the heart-shaped ones, and the ones that say L-O-V-E, like that sculpture from the '70s.)

I got the dragon at a crafts fair. The earrings were a last-minute purchase. Purple is one of my favorite colors too, so I “see” it more. Glad you’re enjoying it all!

Bad news. May have lost the kitty coasters when the house burned this morning.

Good heavens! Is everyone okay?!?

We were opening presents at a relative’s place when we got the call. House is a wreck, three cats missing, lost our clothes, our computer, just about everything.

OMG!! How awful!!!
