Oh I’m glad they got there. I was worried about the zip code issue.
I bow to your slothfulness! How did you ever manage that? I can sometimes convince Hubs to mail my packages for me, but not nearly as often as I would like.
I didn’t wrap anything it just didn’t seem right to gift wrap a can of Rosarita’s refried beans even if I did get the spicy ones with jalapenos.
We can sit on the slacker bench together. Mushes over to give purplehorseshoe room.
A little bird…well Nayna told me that there were perishables in my box and I found the perfect breakfast cookies. Oatmeal with a chocolate topper AND recognizable icing flowers. So yummy with coffee after a swim, thank you Nayna! I’m still waiting to open the card and nicely wrapped prezzies.
I came home from my swim to find a set of waterproof earbuds on my desk. Yes, I did say I wanted them and yes I am very happy with them. I would have been much happier to have found them in a gift bag (Amazon even gift wraps things) on Christmas.
Looks around for someone else who might have mailed something from WV, because it was not me. You are on my list, but as you know, things have been a little unsettled and many things on my list have been delayed.
Please do share who my neighbor is when you know!
Yes, that’s from me! I was unsure what to do about my username, so I posted upthread that everything was wrapped in red/white striped paper.
As for the calendar, I was mailing a bunch of packages that day, and as always, I ran out of newspaper for filling and had to improvise. Someone was gonna throw that calendar away, can you believe? And good call on the cat toy being the first one you opened. There are/were nine items total – enjoy!
Please don’t! I love my cat’s ass coasters, and it is much easier to balance my beer on these than to use real cat’s asses, I’ll tell you.
Those coasters have been a hit with everyone I’ve given them to - I’m glad you like them. And you’re right about real cats - they just don’t want to be helpful!
don’t be embarrassed! i very much enjoyed both items. a bit of hawaii brighten up the dark winter times.
in the days of yore on sdmb, there was a discussion of the amount of presents and how sometimes it looks like a toy store exploded in some people’s houses.
one person wrote that the limit in their family was 3. good enough for the little baby in bethlehem, good enough for you!
i really liked that. three it is!
Well, @JaneDoe42 your neighbor is @Rilchiam
Y’all go wave “hi” at each other!
Also … SENT!!! On its merry way, taped very securely shut. @Nayna I am no longer a slacker.
Advent calendar day #2:
Dark chocolate covered pretzel sticks!!
… guess what I’m taking to work today for my “I need to not hate life for a moment” snack.
Guess. Just guess.
(Oh, and Monkey luuuuuurves his new toy. He sez thanx!)

So, those are/were thumbprint cookies, which are super popular around here (Southwest Pennsylvania, by Pittsburgh). I’d never heard of them before living here. I didn’t make them, but they’re local, and I’m glad you love/loved them!
You guys on the slacker bench can spread out a bit.
The package I sent has been recieved, don’t know if the recipient is waiting to open.
My box o’ goodies arrived!! And what an interesting variety:
First - I little plastic magnifier/ruler/fire starter (I’m assuming that’s one of the magnifier features
Next - a set of five different size and different color nylon bags that will be perfect for use on our boat or in other travel situations. Very cool.
And last but not least - a See’s chocolate assortment, which will be kept from everyone else in the family, because CHOCOLATE!!!
There was also a card from @FMera that prompts me to say, um, maybe switch to decaf? The notes inside cracked me up - complete with arrows pointing thither and yon to add to and explain and generally make it the most frenetic card I’ve ever received. So, @FMera, do you talk a mile a minute, because that’s how I read it!
And to say that my participation is why you decided to play - I’m honored and I guess it worked out that you got my name.
Thanks ever so much! I needed a bright spot on this drizzly, cold, overcast day and I found it on my porch! I hope your holidays are as happy as I am right now! MWAH!!!
Were is the correct word! The cookie itself looked suspiciously healthy, but one bit was enough to happily rule it out. Thanks for the regional treat, I always love those the best!
Hey Neighbor! Logan county here, are you loving the rain today? We moved here from AZ and I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of watching the rain.
purplehorseshoe: There are two more edible things. Sarris is close enough to where I am that they’re legal tender at holiday time*. Dark chocolate, like you said! And I’m sure Monkey is as adorable as that mouse.
Hi, JaneDoe42! Brooke County here. As I said upthread, I’m in the stovepipe wedged between Ohio and PA. I think I’m closer to Nayna ::waves:: than to you.
We had snow overnight. It’s raining now, though. Yeah, rain: We moved from SoCal, where the smog and light pollution made us forget about things like stars in the night sky, and electrical storms. Here, we can enjoy both!
Also, y’all have convinced me. Next year, I will put a card in the package I send!
*Easter, too.
I received a package today! @hocow sent me some fun pressies!
First of all - local coffee! “Shoobie Blend” Yay! I can’t wait to have some on Christmas morning.
Next - some fun “Delco” merch. A Christmas ornament and a beer cozy (which I will be using shortly!)
Also, and best of all a SLINKY!!! (because they were invented in Delaware County). My sister and I have been playing with it for the last 20 minutes. It’s a proper, old school Slinky, and it’s so much fun.
Thank you so much, @hocow ! I love all my gifts.
Checking usps dot com for tracking on the SS package. It shows that the package arrived at the Hub of SS’s recipient yesterday at 4:04pm and the expected delivery is today between 1pm and 5pm. Yay!
At last I have opened my wonderful gifts from rocking_chair! They’re from/living in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh’s sister city, and I got some goodies from there!
A beautiful olive wood bowl (I don’t see any Lager damage at all, but who can blame him for wanting a little nibble?), Philadelphia socks! Coasters featuring photos of Philadelphia scenes (including an appearance from their mascot, Gritty), and labeled with personalized notes from rocking_chair! Christmas scrubby sponges!
I love it all. Merry Christmas, and thank you!
happy christmas from east pennsylvania! i’m glad you enjoyed everything.
lager more rolls and drools in olive wood.
the last video on the page links to the new gritty choral piece. any time a song starts out; “at first, i was disgusted.” you know it is going to be good.

czarcasm, those candles are awesome! Yesterday, I had the Cinnamon Clove one burning, and Mr. Rilch walked in and said “What’cha making?”
purplehorseshoe, have you opened more stuff?
