Some lightning and thunder Saturday night, but only an inch of white stuff (we may have received rain and/or sleet).
My neighbors ignored the “please avoid parking on street” message from city, so I have a vehicle both before and after my driveway, which means I will get to shovel the street. Right now that is not a big deal, but if we get a bunch that will be a pain.

At Noon about 4 inches of wet snow. The snowing is very light to nonexistent now.

Almost 70 right now. 20 tomorrow night.
Not inches, temp.
We only got about twelve inches during the big storm a few weeks ago, but the next town east of us got thirty.
Currently no snow coming at us, but it’s supposed to start raining afternoon and continue through Tuesday morning.
Nice neighbor (I assume) cleared my big pile. Expecting second wave tonight / Monday morning.

I discovered over time that, when I decide to clean, treat, and store my winter work boots, it is bad luck. It snows within 5 days 90% of the time. I had mine sitting in my foyer for a long time since the last measurable snow fall but, after foolishly listening to my brother who laughingly said, “Things are starting to pop out of the ground, spring is here, and I think you’re safe.”, I even more foolishly cleaned, treated, and stored my boots. Today is Monday, and I had to dig out my boots, clean my car off, and churn my way to work. Let’s see, according to my calculations that would be 4 days.
So, I guess this snow storm is my fault. Mea culpa! LOL
that is why i don’t put winter stuff away until after may 30th.
Wave 2 was (thankfully) much drier, but that made it drift more so I’m not sure how much – 3 inches??
The truck before my driveway left, so when the plow came the wet stuff (now frozen into ice) was at the end of my driveway – easily 16 inches deep. Thankfully my nice neighbor helped me clear the driveway (he did not do wave 1 – I’m guessing the vehicle owner did, as some of it had to be done in order to get the vehicle out)

The legendary blizzard of March 2026, which the Weather Channel dubbed Winter Storm Iona, wasn’t as bad in my area as initially predicted, but I know some areas really got walloped.
We officially got 7 to 8 inches of snow, but I really think most of it melted when it landed, because the ground and pavement were warm. I went out a couple hours ago to “dig out” my car, and only needed to brush off the passenger windows. Winds do remain high, so they’re saying people should still not travel unless absolutely necessary.
A joke post went bacterial about school being cancelled today, and people said, “D’oh, it is anyway, because of spring break” but that’s only for my town. Some towns in the area weren’t on spring break.
My parents, up in Green Bay, got 24" from the storm; places to the north of them (both in Door County, and in the main body of Wisconsin) got around 30". ![]()
Thankfully, my parents were able to get dug out today; their handyman (the son of one of my father’s best friends) came over and used the snowblower to clear everything. The berm pushed up by the village snowplow at the end of their driveway was about 4 feet high.
I’m dreaming of a white St Patrick’s Day…
Heavy rain on Sunday west of Chicago, followed by a couple of inches of snow. Most paved surfaces melted during the day Monday. Temps in the teens this morning. Should be 40s on Thursday and 50s-60s going into the weekend. Will that be Second Spring or Mud Season?
(Kinda sad to see all the tulip/daff leaves in the snow…)
