2026 Celebrity Death Pool

Per Politico, he’s in critical but stable condition.

I can believe the critical part, but stable? That train left Grand Central a loooong time ago.

Longtime Yankees announcer John Sterling has called his last game. Age 87.

I saw him in Borat 2 and setting aside how they set him up or whatever, he sounded like a lunatic grandpa on the internet when he gave his interview.

I don’t believe he was unzipping, etc, to be inappropriate. I do, however, think he is a mad fool.

No sympathy. I just checked my 1999 picks. Five of them are still alive.

I will never forget watching the video of Ted Turner finding out the World Trade Center building had fallen. It’s a rare genuine moment.

Obviously kind of a jerk at times, but he had big visions and I appreciate some of what I’ve heard about him.

My siblings have stories of sailing against him in races on Lake Chickamauga in Chattanooga and Allatoona in the Atlanta area. I was young enough that I don’t remember any specific comments they made, just that he was in races at times. Much smaller boats than would have been in the America’s cup races, of course.

Looks like I got 1 hit on him! RIP Turner

Then your points will not be counted, because taking out contracts on your picks is a rules violation.

I just read Jane Fonda’s write-up about Ted Turner. Sounds like she really loved him and he did really love her. He was unfaithful, though. I’m not sure if she was. She gave him a second chance and they lasted 7(?) more years. I guess he might have cheated again. I’m not sure, but they split.

He’s not in any Epstein stuff, I take it? I mean in terms of guilt. I hope not.

Bonnie Tyler, who had three huge hits with Total Eclipse of the Heart, Holding Out for a Hero, and It’s A Heartache, is currently in a medically-induced coma after undergoing emergency intestinal surgery in Portugal.

Oh gosh. That’s not good. :downcast_face_with_sweat:

It’s definitely a heartache

More @Baker anxiety. She has not posted in this thread for a month and on the board for nearly 2 weeks.

Wasn’t looking for any; I haven’t had him on my list since, so in that sense, it hasn’t mattered to me that he lives on.

If anything, I feel sympathy for what remains of his consciousness, trapped in that mostly-dead body.

It might be temporary. Every now and then she falls apart.

You never know. She might have a turn around.

She’s been living in a powder keg and shooting off sparks…eventually that kind of living catches up to you.
