It’s been rescheduled, not cancelled.
Yeah, its been conveniently rescheduled at the same time as the Sopranos.
I wonder if GW will say, “The sky is falling” during his speech.
sorry, GB*
George Bernard Shaw?
Well, I can’t complain at all, because I pooh-poohed Diogenes’ angst over missing American Idol.
But my nose is spontaneously bleeding, and I have this twitch.
Stupid Dubya. I want my 24.
Man, Palmer’s gettin’ tough!
Life imitates art.
Is it rescheduled for Sunday?
How many Americans just decided who to vote for, based on the mean ole President pre-empting their favorite teevee show? (The sad thing is, the answer is probably “more than 1 or 2”.)
I’d say more than one or two. This wasn’t a coincidence. The White House press staff knew that Tuesday night is the best night on television. They deliberately planned this move so that millions of people tuning in for their favorite shows would see GW campaining instead. It’s a common tactic. Reagan used to do it to “The Cosby Show”. It’s not a lack of due diligence - they didn’t accidently pick this time. It was a coordinated move to allow campaigning to a particular group of Americans who wouldn’t tune in otherwise. It’s a scam that takes advantage of people, and I am not a bit ashamed that it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. A candidate illustrating that he really doesn’t care about things that are important to people, and will in fact use the knowledge of our TV habits for their own personal gain and political agenda is a valid reason for discounting said candidate. I don’t think it is sad at all. It’s a reasonable response to an unreasonable action (or at least a cheap move - I suppose it could be called reasonable to try to get viewers - even if it is by fucking them).

They say one president postponed a speech because he didn’t want to go up against I Love Lucy. Perhaps Dubya should have followed established precedent
So do we know what happened to Knead last week? Did he bail?
And yes, fox.com and fox.com/24 both say that 24 will be on Sunday, 9pm.
