"24" Season 2, Episode 5 - 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. (SPOILERS)

In what was a pretty relieving appearance based on some of her character’s action on 24, it was nice to see Elisha Cuthbert (Kim Bauer) on Last Call with Carson Daly last night. She seemed like a very fun-loving down-to-earth 19 year old girl, who is a lot brighter than her character.

I think we met at a BAD one, at some resturant downtown, during my first month here in town. 32nd and Pacheco/Quintero here.

BAD meaning Bay Area Dopers. I actually had a good time.

Not to make excuses for stupid decisions and reactions, but it needs to be recalled that Kim is a 18-19 YO girl here. Of course she reacts to everything on an emotional level and lets her passions dictate her actions. I’ve not known many 18 YOs (unfortunately myself included) who wouldn’t fit that bill.

And, I’ll go a tad further and say that in spite of the fact that we older and wisers get bugged by Kim operating on all emotion all the time, she’s the HOTTEST woman on TV right now.

Now, if we can somehow get Kim and Michelle involved in “a very special subplot”… Hey, it’s the holidays, time for wishes, etc.

Hmm… this seems unlikely in reality, but as I understand it, Palmer gave up all our physical files to the ambassador, so now that the chopper went down, so did all our intel on Second Wave.

(Wouldn’t we have more than paper originals? Especially with the protective presidential assistant guy?)

I also mourn Darlene Connor. Perhaps David Healy can come in and save the day.

I took it more as an indication that someone had gone behind the back of the prez and ordered the downing of the chopper to prevent the release of the files. Like, maybe… a certain dismissed National Security Director, or whatever.

Can I admit to being a little glad that darlene has outlived her usefulness?

I think that’s more likely the case. I hardly believe the Prez would turn over original files of anything…they must have given them copies.

I took it as a sign that the new NSA guy - the one who promised a full “investigation” - is worse then the one he had. Then enemy you know is better then the one you don’t. I think he only screwed himself when he fired that guy. This new older guy is shaaaaaadddyyyy. He’s the one who wants the war . . .

Also, this was the week that I realized that Jack Bauer was instrumental in getting Pedro Cerrano elected to the highest office in the land. I had never made that connection before and now it adds a whole new dimension to 24.
“Hats for Jack. Keep Jack warm.”

Hmm… I guess your interpretations do make more sense, huh?

 <-directed at self

They had just better not kill off Michelle. Or I will never forgive them.
