Because they have no car there at the hospital, the cops are still looking for the “hispanic guy” who stole the computer monitor (Scruffy), and they are also looking for the missing little girl. Most important thing at that point was get away from the area, and it’s either Evil Dad’s car, or on foot. (And no – calling a cab from there or nearby is not realistic – you have to wait for the cab, while the cops are still hunting you).

What about the car Scruffy had driven to the hospital? If I recall correctl it wasn’t his car but it would have been, to me, a much more viable option. Thats why I don’t think the move made any sense whatsoever.
(If anybody has tape of that episode where scruffy shows at the hospital, and I’m wrong, let me know. It would at least have made more sense that they took the dads car to get out of there. In that case, Monstre here is right, use the dads car to get out of there, get Scruffy’s car, get the hell outta dodge.)
I think he’d kill himself before he went through all that. He does have a gun, after all. So either self-sacrifice or suicide is my guess. The sacrifice makes for better TV though.
Right – it would. But I think the point is that it would have to be sooner than later, because he’s probably not going to last the next 16 or 17 hours or so without all those aforementioned symptoms kicking in.
Hmmm… I don’t remember for sure. I thought that the guy had said that dying within the day was most likely. I’m wanting to say that it was a matter of hours rather than days – but I could be wrong.
Yeah, Radioactive Man told Mason he could live up to a week, or as little as a day. C’mon, this is tv land…what kind of drama would this be if he didn’t die this 24 hours?
Heh, Radioactive Man…“Zee goggles! Zey do nussing!”
In season one, all the “good” guys used Apples, including Jack and Tony, while all the “bad” guys used PCs, including Nina. This year I have detected no such pattern–Tony still had a Mac until CTU blew up, but Sarah Gilbert was programming all the codes and stuff on a PC. Likewise, in the Prez’s area, NSA huy appeared to me to be using a Mac Powerbook, while Ex-Mrs. Prez had a Dell laptop.
As to the question of whether they have the whole storyline laid out already, I thinkthey probably have the plot figured out, but they might not have shot the whole story–in year one, they only shot the first 12 episodes initially, then waitied to see if the show was a hit before resuming filming.
Finally, another question: I read in an interview with Elisha Cuthbert that in the first year the director had a teddy bear named “Mr. Fuzzy” in virtually every shot. Anybody notice any incongruous critters this year? I haven’t seen him.
Just reporting what I read. Elisha says that if you look carefully, you can see a teddy bear (or sometimes a teddy bear-shaped shadow) all over the place in the first year. Sounds like an investigative job for someone with the episodes on DVD…
