I guess the torture scene is they had the graphic violence warning at the beginning of the show (first time I’ve seen that this season). I had a hard time watching that as well.
Ever see Dead Calm with Nicole Kidman, Sam Neill and Billy Zane? It’s about 10 years old, but any video store should have it. I can’t say any more for fear of spoiling the end.
Same here. 24 is the only thing I use my VCR for. And every time I see the 24 DVDs at Blockbuster, I always check out the DVD Player prices.
I can’t even understand why he gave them to her in the first place. I don’t think even someone fresh out of basic training would willingly part with their ammo supply in a combat situation.
Apparently the writers couldn’t come up with a better way for Nina to get her hands on a weapon.
I still thought it was a good episode.
Was I the only one who got the idea that Marie is in on this deal from the previews?
Reza says “Who else had access to this account? Marie?” and then there’s a quick shot of a gun with a silencer.
I put it in a spoiler box because I don’t want anyone who doesn’t pay attention to the coming attractions to get mad at me.
FallenAngel, I think it was a portable sander, on what it was used makes me cringe (judging by the screams of the victim).
You got that right!
In one scene, Jack pulls out a hunk of shrapnel the size of a Bowie knife, then is giving Nina mouth-to-mouth to revive her after they both fell 23,000 feet and crashed in an airplane, and less than 13 seconds later, they are doing an Olympic-qualifying sprint across rocky terrain dodging bullets.
(Despite these minor lapses in credibility, I love this show and bought both my brothers the DVD first season sets for Christmas.)
Right – and I’m certain that the president would be willing to pardon any of the CTU guys that happened to plug Nina full of holes before she could kill Jack.
I could be wrong, but I don’t get the impression that it’s about wrecking the presidency. I think it’s just to hurt America – make the U.S. look weak, etc. Sayed Ali said something about not letting anything ruin this “sacred day”. Sounds like a 9-11 sort of motive, but on a much larger scale.
After the speech additions, Ensign Ro is probably going to start having a little begrudging respect for ex-Mrs. Palmer. Although I still wanted her to bitch-slap that smug look off ex-wife’s face at the end.
Avalonian - then check out Under Siege 2: Dark Territory, because it happens in that movie, too.
Re the scenes from next week:
Did anyone notice whether the shot with Reza at the computer and the shot of the shooting gun were part of the same scene? I wouldn’t be surprised if these were cut together from different scenes in the episode to make us think that Reza is going to get shot (at).
It was pretty clearly an inside scene, but remember Dr. Torture is getting ready to kill Kate, and I think it showed him loading a gun while she was still in shock that looked like the one in the preview. So the shot fired in the preview scenes could be from that storyline instead of Reza’s. Darn those editors!
Both me and you will find out tonight JayLa.
