@26yo Am I fixable? Long TMI:Whiney ranting, Self-Doubt, Girls, Depression, Suicide.

  1. Of course you can be fixed, you’re only 26!

  2. Forgive yourself. You can’t move on until you’ve accepted that the choices you’ve made are in the past and can’t be changed. You are obviously well aware that many of the choices you’ve made have not been the best, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t start making good choices right now. They won’t change what’s happened before, but it will make the past matter less, and eventually the good choices will outweigh the bad, and you’ll be able to think about what a stupid kid you were back then, dwelling on the mistaked you made.

  3. Focus on the things you HAVE accomplished, rather than those you haven’t. You HAVE a trumpet, so start playing it! You don’t have to be the best trumpet player in the world for it to be an accomplishment and a gift.

  4. Perhaps you’re not moving on because it’s easier to sit and dwell on the mistakes of the past than to put effort into your life and change things. It’s far less of an effort to stay home and think about your mistakes than it is to try and make them better. Try a little, and you’ll probably be surprised at what you are able to accomplish, and how the past will start to fade into…well, the past.

  5. Finally, don’t shut those out who care about you, and don’t give them opportunity or reason to shut you out.

I wish you all the best.
