I saw the thread (yeah everyone knows which one) was getting a bit old and so I bumped it back to the top.
It seems mittu has become more comfortable posting to other threads now that he thinks we’ve forgotten about his little puzzle. I must admit his posting to the thread “Origin and Reason for Racing Stripes” shows he’s more interested in scholarly topics as opposed to this silly little word puzzle.
Ugh. I didn’t even post to the infamous thread although I’ve been following it faithfully.
I believe a lynching would be entirely too kind…
I’m thinking more of a slow, puzzling kind of death. 
Or better yet, answer any post or thread with an arcane set of alpha-numeric characters.
Now now, no need to be so “in your face”. I’ve posted in that thread, and I don’t see why you both just can’t settle down. In fact, I promise not to type anything more about it.

Perhaps we should ask someone to assassinate Mittu.
To keep in theme, however, there would have to be no-one with the nickname of Mittu.
We would all therefore be innocent of taking a life that did not exist. It seems to fit, somehow.

Yes, before I could ask the mods politely to DELETE that thread. Not just to lock it - but to physically make it disappear.
Also, how about suspending mittu until he comes up with a satisfactory answer?

I can see the irritation. I’ve only been looking at that thread rarely, but I was hoping the reason it had been bumped was that the answer had been given. Quite frustrating to learn that wasn’t the case.

It seems mittu’s failure to post an answer is having a deleterious effect on his recent postings.
For example, mittu started a thread concerning Manual vs Automatic transmissions in America.
Usram posted the very first reply:
Maybe it’s just my imagination. Perhaps, Usram’s reply was a genuine attempt to furnish an answer.
When mittu started another thread (“Recommend a good migration consultant”), it received zero replies. You would think that this message board, whose membership includes some rather urbane, sophisticated, knowledgeable, and intelligent people that an answer would have been shortly forthcoming. Perhaps that’s one of the very few areas in which this board cannot supply an answer. I was ready to respond to that posting, but I only know incompetent migration consultants.
So, maybe it’s just me but it seems as though mittu’s popularity around here would get boosted a couple of hundred percent if he’d just post some kind of answer.
I can think of a worthy place for him to migrate to – think flames and pitchforks – and as a special bonus, I can also suggest an activity for him to do to himself when he gets there. I’m a full-service migration consultant!
I’m in wholehearted favor of the lynching. I had the misfortune to discover that thread on “Threadspotting” way before I even joined. I can’t tell you how many hours I spent trying to find the answer. I had this elaborate fantasy where I would rush in and present all Dopers with the solution and be crowned Supreme Overlady and lots of foot-kissing would ensue. Around 4am, my husband had to drag me to bed twitching.
