I REALLY don’t like The Crandberries. I hate almost all of their songs. Linger? Yes, too long. Zombie? This song smells and sounds as bad as one. Dreams? More like a nightmare.
I can’t stand this band, pretty much because of their sound and the lead singer’s annoying voice.
However, when Free To Decide came out, I actually didn’t MIND it as much as the others. I didn’t love it, but I didn’t hate it either…which was an improvement. I even suffer from liking it…at times. It’s certainly their LEAST annoying song, I’ll give them that.
I despise Neil Diamond. But Brother Love’s Travelling Salvation Show is one of the best revival songs ever.
Diamonds from Sierra Leonne is by Kanyea West.
I hate Kanye West entirely, but this song is pretty good.
I certainly don’t hate Prince (r.i.p.) - I recognize his obvious talent and contributions over the years - I’m just simply not a big fan.
Always liked this number, though:
lol - about the video itself - not crazy about his choice of wardrobe here, but I like the credits running through it.
In general I can’t stand the little tosser but heaven help me, I’ve had Justin Bieber’s Love Yourself stuck in my head for longer than I care to admit. It just has a catchy beat and the first time I heard it and recognized his smarmy voice I kind of rolled my eyes but didn’t dislike it enough to change the station. Then he got to the line “my mama don’t like you and she likes everyone” and something about it just cracked me up. I haven’t gotten sick of it yet.
Kickstart My Heart by Motley Crue.
Never been a fan of The Grateful Dead, but I won’t change the station when “A Touch of Grey” comes on…
“Moves Like Jagger” by Maroon 5 and Christina Aguilera.
Two for the price of one here. And yes, I do like this song…easily, EASILY my favorite from all involved.
Speaking of Jagger . . . I absolutely loathe the Rolling Stones. But I always kinda liked Ruby Tuesday.
I wouldn’t say that I hate The Beach Boys, but I don’t listen to them. I’m not crazy about tight vocal harmonies, that’s largely what they have to offer, and they never seem to give it a rest. If one of their songs comes on the radio, we’re usually gone before the vocals finish the second syllable.
That said, even I don’t change the station when Good Vibrations comes on. The cellos, sweet bass line, organ, theremin (tannerin), and arrangement all suck me in enough to ignore the sickly sweet harmonies for a few minutes.
Right As Rain - Adele
“Father Figure” - George Michael
Britney Spears - Toxic. She may have no singing talent but she had a great writing and production team on this one.
I can’t stand Train because of their DUMB lyrics like this:
“Just a shy guy looking for a two-ply
Hefty bag to hold my love”
Are you kidding me?? But the song those are from is a favorite workout song because it’s bouncy and gets me moving:
If it has to be a band
then Here Comes the Sun https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bgiQD56eWDk
but if it can be a singer
Crocodile Rock https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xw0EozkBWuI
Although my husband loved him, I’ve never been able to stand George Thorogood and I have no idea why. All his most popular songs makes me reach for the dial, but I really like his take on Move it on Over. If only I didn’t know it was him.
Hard to find one for me, because I’m not going to listen to a band I hate to find a decent song.
So instead I’ll pick a composer I hate singing; except this one piece that I actually kind of like singing: Total Eclipse (Handel, from Samson).
Not a big fan of ‘Pop diva’ music, but this is an exception. Great ballad.
Nice. I came in to post something else, but…yeah. That and She’s Got the Looks that Kill, unfortunate video and all.
Speaking of LA bands, I don’t hate The Doors. I don’t think I care enough to “hate” them. But Jim Morrison was a fool, a jerk and an asshole.
Some of their music was very good. Light My Fire; Break on Through; most of Strange Days. But Riders on the Storm? LA Woman? Roadhouse Blues? You are listening to your teenage memories, but not good music.
Never cared all that much for Joan Jett, but The French Song always gets me a movin’ and a shakin’.
