30 Rock, 05/01: "Sandwich Day"

It’s finally happened. I’ve confused Tommy Boy with reality.

Ok, not really. I knew Brian Keith was a different person, so maybe I dreamed it or something.

I don’t know about these sandwiches with the dipping sauce. Is it an Italian sub with tomato sauce? Are they served hot?

You know the joke about it snowing in May?

It’s hard to find a joke like that funny when you’re sitting in the middle of a freaking blizzard. sigh

Otherwise, loved the episode. “It’s on, y’all!”

To be precise, I’m pretty sure it said “No Nut Foods”.

When they designed the 12th Floor scene, I am positive the name of David Lynch was invoked, as in “let’s David Lynch this scene up”.

Did I say twelve? I meant…forty-twelve. Which is fifty-two. Which is where I work.

When Liz was at airport security and the sassy black woman said her story was kind of cliche. And Liz responded “Yeah well, you’re kind of cliche.” That was a thing of beauty.

Or the production designer from Joe Vs. The Volcano, which was my first thought when they showed the 12th Floor.

That ticket to Montreal might come in handy with Jack leaving to head up “Weather Control” at Homeland Security. Unfortunately for Liz, I think you need a passport when traveling to Canada these days.

Re: 12th Floor:

Did no one else get a Beetlejuice vibe from that scene? That’t the first thing I thought of!

The very last line - right after Liz hears the story about Jack going to DC, the gate announcer says ‘Flight (whatever) to Montreal is now bleargh!’

I heart this show.

I thought the sandwiches looked kind of . . . brisket-y.
if that’s a word.

It was “You’re [hand wobble] young …”

Love the 12th floor. But with Jack leaving we probably won’t see it again. Shame. Receptionist with an eye patch. Classy.

Hate the Floydster.
