30 Rock 12/10

I’ve also adopted this into my phraseology.

My wife and I use this and “I want to go to there.”

It’s like the episode where he’s telling the priest about all the bad stuff he’s done, and after a short while it’s a list of all his movie roles, including Malice. “I once claimed I was a doctor. I also said I was God.”

Just don’t tell Artie Fufkin.

Okay, maybe you people can settle this. I say it’s Nerts, and my daughter says it’s Nerds. So which is it? This is tearing our family apart!
“My vengeful God is punishing the sinners!”

My 4 year old has actually used this phrase verbatim in regards to the play area at the mall, and she hasn’t seen 30 Rock. I crack up when I hear her say it, because Tina Fey nailed that one.

I think I read in an interview where Tina Fey claimed she got the phrase from her then-3-year-old daughter, so I guess it’s a toddler thing.

It’s definitely “nerts!”. I just assumed it was a derivitate of “nuts!”.

I don’t think so. Exhibit A. Exhibit B.

Also, just an FYI, Cheyenne Jackson is a pretty well-known Broadway actor, so yeah, boy can sang.

Well a t-shirt shop does make a pretty convincing cite, but I still need more, like a script.

NBC has a dictionary, but it’s fan submitted, and actually has both Nerds, and Nertz!

“Nerts” was used in old Donald Duck comics by the nephews fairly often, FWIW.

In the musical CHICAGO Mama Morton (Queen Latifah in the movie) says “Nerts to that!” about something, so apparently it’s a flapper era slang.

Like “Blergh!”.
