4/21 or 4/22 - Who wants to say good-bye to TP?

Well, guys, I’m flying to NY on 4/26 for interviews. I’m going to be there until the 6th and the plan is to interview every place possible until SOMEONE hires me (anyone with any leads for the area, I’ll be more than happy to take them!) If all goes according to plan, then I’ll fly home, pack up the U-Haul and wave good-bye to Florida on my way out. And, since I can be fairly determined (ask Falcon how I am in AIM sometime! :slight_smile: ), I want to get my good-byes out of the way before I go, just in case, ya know! (Yes, I know we started talking about a DopeFest here, but this is a little more specific, and the other one can be used for a “Thank God she’s gone!” DopeFest! :smiley: ) So, I’m available either the 21st or the 22nd for an impromptu, let’s-get-together-and-enjoy-ourselves DopeFest. Who wants to join me?!!

I won’t be able to do both days, but I will do whichever is best for everyone else. I know it’s short notice, but… well, I don’t have a lot of time (I hope). I’d prefer to do something a little closer to me (maybe in Sarasota or Bradenton - with moving, money and gas in the truck are considerations) and something that as many people can come to as possible (which might leave out 18 and up places). I’ll be as flexible as I can, though. So, does anyone want to say good-bye before I (hopefully) leave the state for good??

Bill, m’dear… are you sure you’re not still hung-over? I can make out some of it, but some of it is flying right past me at 90 miles an hour!

As we e-mailed earlier, I should be able to attend your festivities. I would choose to ride my motorcyle rather than my automobile IF (typo) the weather is forecast to be nice that weekend.

TrueP: I can’t attend yer bye-bye festivities, but if you need a halfway stay during your move, my house in NC is most open to you. Plenty of room, and I’d love to meet ya!

Sorry TP but my brother is going to be in from NJ that weekend and I haven’t seen him in awhile. We will probably go get some drinks here in Tampa. I may join in on that dopefest though if my band isn’t playing that weekend.

elelle, that sounds wonderful! Thank you! I don’t know for sure yet when the move will be, or if I’ll be alone. (Whether I’m going to be alone or not is going to be determined by the when… I’m really hoping that it will be that first week of May…) But as the time gets closer, I’ll drop you a line and let you know. I know we were planning on taking a leisurely trip up, making a few stops along the way. And if I’m alone, that will be even more necessary. I can only take so much of my own company!!

Pez, don’t worry about it. As much as I’d like for you to be there, I can understand why you can’t. Maybe some time when I come to visit my folks, we’ll figure something out.

Look maiden,

I’ve been a friend of TP’s for almost 3 years now,
and I had the opportunity to see events centred around
the RenFest on this side. If this helps.

TP and lnm have been friends for longer
than I’ve known them, and they started building
a long distance relationship, and they didn’t want
to tell anyone on the boards incase it didn’t work out.
His trip to FL was a chance for them to
get together and see were things stood. This trip
just happened to be a good excuse for a party.

TP is a flirt OL,
but with her it’s just a fun way to blow off steam.
You were flirting with lnm, but she didn’t think it
was only in fun. This trip to FL was their chance to finally
get together, they didn’t want you to interfere, so,
YES, they wanted you out of the picture.

And I don’t know what happened, or what was said,
but feelings got hurt and people got pissed off at
each other.

If you’ve found someone else I’m happy for you,
but your whole post reeks of sour grapes.

TP, when you say you’re coming to NY, do you mean the state or the city? If it’s the state, what part will you be in? If it’s the city, you’ll fit in fine, they forget about the rest of us too.

Either way, as it appears I won’t meet you at a Florida dopefest, perhaps I will have a future opportunity to meet you at a dopefest here in New York.

Well, TP, I’m glad for you that you’re moving out of Florida, and I wish you all the best. I really mean that. You and I didn’t perhaps get off on the right foot, but I’m hoping that has changed, and we can get to know each other better.

I have debated over what to say, and have rewritten it again, and finally I’ve decided to just say this, and leave it at that:

While I think that maiden made a comment that didn’t belong in this thread, I understand why she did it. There is a lot more going on here than some of you apparently believe, for whatever reason. So, even though I was there, and do know most of what transpired in Florida and via emails between lurkernomore and maidenunicorn, I will refrain from comment here. Suffice it to say that this whole topic does not belong in MPSIMS, or really on the board at all. Falcon, I thought better of you. To attack her faith, without even knowing the facts, is beneath you. Scralden, since you are not either TP, lurker, or maiden, you cannot speak with anything but partial knowledge, and so have no business adding fuel to the speculation. You’re out of line, and don’t know what you’re talking about. I, on the other hand do, since I was there in person and read a good deal of the emails between lurker and maiden, and yes, he knew I read them.

So, people, get a grip. This whole nasty business does not belong on this board. If you’re not one of the principles involved, you have nothing to say, which is why I’m going to not say all I know.

This is inappropriate, and further comments and speculation will only do more harm than has already been done. I’m sorry to have to say this, when it shouldn’t have come up at all on here. Enough hurt feelings abound, without idle speculation and spurious comments attacking any of the people involved. Let it drop, here and now. This is something to be worked out, or not, between the people involved, no one else, including myself. I am caught right in the middle, and hate it. I can’t stand this. Stop it, all of you.

I am moving to the City, or at least close enough (I hope) to not make a difference. The actual place I move to is going to depend a lot on what job I get and where. (And, of course, how much this job wants to pay me! :slight_smile: )

I certainly hope so! I know Falcon was talking about possibly trying to get one together on the 29th (the Sunday I’m in town) but I don’t know any details or anything about it yet. If that doesn’t come through, I’m hoping to be around for many, many more!

Well, it looks like so far it’s me and UncleBill. And it looks like the night is 4/21, Saturday night. Place hasn’t been determined, but it looks like we’ve got the day set at least.

There’s gotta be more FL Dopers that want to come out and have a chance to meet and greet and say g’bye to me! :slight_smile:

So let me know if you can make it, where you want to meet, what you want to do. As they say, the more the merrier. (Of course, with UncleBill and I there, it’s probably gonna be pretty merry anyway!!! :smiley: )
