4 new Boomtown episodes Sat and Sun

Tonight from 8pm EST to 11pm and tomorrow at 10pm.

I wish they’d uncancel it, but at least it’s 4 episodes we probably weren’t going to see.

hmmm. I thought there’d be other people who cared…

Thank you.

I’m glad I checked the board in time to catch tonight’s shows. If it weren’t for you, elfkin477, I’d have never known they were on.

I thank you.
My wife thanks you.
Happy new year!

I’m glad to have posted this then. What bothered me was their tagline calling Boomtown “TV’s most aclaimed show.” Bragging about a show you cancelled is insane.

I’ve been on vacation this week. Hopefully my VCR taped all four episodes.

These are the last fur episodes which were filmed, which is quite sad as tonight’s was lackluster, especially after the episodes which aired last night.

NBC has a lot to answer for, giving us more “Good Morning Miami” and “Average Joe” and people eating disgusting stuff for money while cancelling the show that they admit was universally adored by critics and fans. Their argument is that the show got bad ratings. Apparently they haven’t figured out that this is largely due to the fact that a.) it was originally on Friday nights which is never a high rating night and b.) they moved it around and preempted it so frequently that it couldn’t possibly build a solid audience. They beat the show half to death, put it on a respirator, then pulled the plug out of spite. Nitwits.

Just watched Sunday night’s Boomtown…and all I can say is: What a disappointment!

I had heard that NBC had ordered the producers to “tweak” the show’s format, and judging from this episode, the show was tweaked!

Everything that had set this series apart had been stripped out. The most compelling characters had been pushed aside. The inventive & original shift in perspective was watered down enough to make it practically non-existant. The show basically became a “Law & Order: Boomtown”.

If this is the direction the show was headed in, I’m not that bummed about it’s cancellation…
