Three months ago the Republicans were crowing that they had the most qualified slate of candidates ever. Now they’re down to Trump, Carson, Rubio, and maybe Fiorina. Trump has turned the whole primary process on its head. Between him and Carson they are sucking all the oxygen out of the room and preventing more serious candidates from gaining any traction while they burn through their campaign war chests.
Bush is not going to be the nominee. The ‘base’ hates him passionately, and now his endorsements and money men are shifting to Rubio, who I think has to be the odds-on favorite for the nomination now.
Ted Cruz said Dept of Commerce twice. He wasn’t called on it, dammit.

Total prediction fail right there. But Kasich has been pretty feisty and aggressive in this debate. He’s fighting to get outsize share of the floor and I think he’s helped himself with this debate.
Evidently no one’s willing to touch Carson on the fabulation issue. Not sure what Trump’s strategy to bring down Carson is at this point. I do think Cruz has had a reasonably good night and may draw some support from Carson, which ought to benefit Trump at least in the short term.
Rubio says welders make more than philosophers. Cruz dismisses the Fed as a bunch of philosopher kings (twice).
