I thought “back to the bamboo cage” a bit rough. Anyone have McCain links so I don’t have to google to find out what an asshole or not he really is?
Nevermind. He was on the list in 2002
Yeah, me too.
Links to what?
Hey, that list doesn’t have Teddy Kennedy on it either! What the hell?
Between that fact and the unaccountable absence of any member of the Clinton family, I think it’s fairly obvious that this entire list is merely a transparent, unjustified slam on the right wing.
The only other possibility would be that, somehow, the right wing has been conspicuously more loathsome than the left during the past year. Offhand I can’t think of any recent events, national political campaigns, corruption scandals, or escalating death tolls that could possibly lead a reasonable person to arrive at such a conclusion.

I’d say that Gerald Ford really wasn’t a “bumbling doofus”. He was, in fact, an accomplished athlete. He had a couple of isolated oopsies involving movable stairs and such, but the Chevy Chase parodies were taken by some people as confirmation of reality. Chase himself had great respect for Ford and, perhaps ironically, sought treatment for himself at the Betty Ford clinic in the 1980s.
In addition to Liberal’s response above, see the Carlos Mencia wikipedia discussion page for citations regarding his history and ethnic origins. As for Bill Gates, I trust the hyperbole of the paragraph on him was self-evident to you.
Ironically, he was probably the most athletic presidents in modern history.
Yeah, but from what I gather, Chase is also supposed to be a total asshole to work with.
Ford, on the other hand, seemed like a nice enough guy.
Funny piece. Reminds me of similar lists from Spy magazine in the 80’s.
I have to go with
Nixon should have been imprisoned at the National Zoo in a cage of hyenas.
I hope someone remembered to drive a stake through RMN’s black misshapen heart before they screwed down the lid of the coffin.
Agreed. While I’m obviously not in synch with these guys politically, they are funny as hell in what they write. Last night I read all their 50 Most Loathsome lists back through 2002.
Not at all. That began with Roosevelt.
And the most glaring, hideous and obnoxious omission of all…that loud-mouthed, unthinking, uncaring, presumptious, arrogant and totally classless windbag: Rosie (Gag! What a misnomer!) O’'Donnell! I have despised that loathsome dipshit for years but my contempt for her really went off the scale when I heard her describing her response to Kelli’s parents during a time when they were trying to come to grips with the heretofore unknown fact that their daughter was gay and that O’Donnell wanted to live with her. They (and Kelli) were trying to come up with some way that O’Donnell and Kelli could spend time together without making it obvious that they were a couple, and Kelli’s parents suggested that perhaps O’Donnell could buy a house in the neighborhood so that to outward appearances they were only friends. Her response to this middle-age couple trying to find a way to their daughter’s homosexuality while at the same time trying to keep it from becoming world-famous? “But, I want to have sex with her!” In other words, “Fuck the fact that you just found out your daughter is gay, and fuck the fact that you’re troubled by it and you don’t want people to know about it, and fuck your status as the loving parents of this person sitting next to me here…I want to fuck her!..and I want to fuck her whenever I feel like it!..and your so-called solution won’t allow for that!”
Heh. I’m not fan of Rosie, but my opinion of her just went up a notch to “mild dislike”.

I have to agree with this. It’s the parents who were way out of line here.

They didn’t say he was physically clumsy. Turning a state ment of solidarity with the people of Eastern Europe into a massive denial of reality is pretty bumbling. And even if you agreed with every one of his decisions, it’s hard to say he wasn’t a doofus. He was a Ford, not a Lincoln.

Teddy or Franklin?
Oh, bullshit, Dio! Even such a longtime gay advocate as Cher was distressed over and had difficulty dealing with the fact that her daughter was gay once it became evident that she was. It’s easy to be judgemental over these things until you’re the one confronted with them.
To Rosie O’Donnell, Rosie O’Donnell’s feelings are paramount and she absolutely couldn’t give a shit less about the feelings of anybody else! She expects everyone else to comport themselves in such a way as to kowtow to her feelings, all the while trampling totally unconcernedly all over everyone else’s. She was crass and unfeeling to her son when he came home from school bitterly complaining over his lot being the son of a gay couple (or was he out of line, too, Dio?); she thoughtlessly and remorselessly outed Clay Aiken because she chose to view Kelly Ripa’s comment as a gay slur; she insulted Asian culture with her ching-chong comments and said she’d likely do the same kind of things again; she very tenderly and romantically gave the finger to America after descending the courthouse steps with her beaming bride on what in most cases is the most important, romantic and lovely day of a new bride’s life.
She’s a bullying, uncaring loudmouth who is almost universally despised by those close to her. Her employees at her TV show hated her and her employees and people she worked with at her magazine hated her. If that obnoxious, self-important, totally tactless and airhead was your boss you’d hate her, and if she was your neighbor you’d avoid her. I can’t imagine why anyone in world even likes her, let alone supports her as a person.

Not at all. That began with Roosevelt.
Some might say Jackson.

Do you suppose it might have slowed down a mite if Nixon had been prosecuted?
