Loeffler is still in due to being appointed to serve out a term. Ossoff is the missing vote as he hasn’t yet been certified to replace Perdue.

“Overrode” implies that trump gave an order and Pence countermanded it. What I quoted from the article seems to say that trump did not give any orders one way or the other and Pence stepped into the vacuum.

Trump managed to completely screw up again…he could have let this carry on for 4-5 states and a couple of days, but instead he let the mob go and lost most of his Senate support (the House, who knows) and maybe the whole thing will be done tonight. Once again, his brillance in politics shines through (yes, that was sarcasm).

I mean, apparently Trump was aware that a request to deploy the Guard was requested and he did not give that order. That’s a decision in itself. Maybe “overrode” is too strong, but Pence clearly exceeded his authority.
