7 Jan 2021 and beyond - the aftermath of the storming of the Capitol

Probably some sort of cheap flip-flops or water shoes with a corporate logo.

Loyalty rewarded:

There simply wasn’t enough loyalty, at least when it counted.

The guy with the Hitler mustache and haircut tried to claim that he didn’t know that Congress meets in the Capitol, but he was convicted on five charges, anyway.

So he thought they met in the Reichtag?

Hashtag #Reichstag?

Heischstag!

I remember every detail. The Germans wore grey. You wore blue.

H/T

Burn down the Reichstag, blame it on the communists. Storm the Capitol, blame it on Antifa and BLM.

That their actions that day came down to a “split second” decision doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be held accountable, the judge noted.

“That is the case with a lot of crimes,” said Friedrich, a Trump appointee. “Many, many defendants are held responsible for impulsive decisions they made in seconds.”

Remember how all those corporations promised to stop giving money to seditionists after January 6th?
There been a lot of reporting about the companies that broke those promises.

Now, here’s some recognition for the 85 (out of 249) companies that KEPT their promises.

The full list is at the bottom of the very good - but long - article.

Thanks, Ann! After seeing this, I’ve made some changes to where I buy things - and now I just have to write some letters to tell them why.

I’m assuming that this is not one of those cases where “corporate contributions” counts what the employees donate of their own accord, right?

The latest from the Capitol:

When the hearings begin on Thursday in prime time, all the TV networks will be covering it – except Fox, of course.

There goes our last hope of anyone hearing the truth for the first time.

The hearings are clearly news.

That Fox is choosing not to cover it* should be further proof, if any were needed, that “Fox News” is an entertainment channel, not a news channel. And thus cable customers should not be forced to pay for it (as all are now) unless they want to opt-in to pay for it. Just like with STARZ and other entertainment options.

*/ Many Fox-defenders are claiming that Fox IS covering the hearings since they will show them (or part of them) on the Fox Business channel. But that channel averages fewer 500,000 viewers per night, versus the 3 million + that watch Fox News.

It’s also been suggested that since Fox News is openly admitting they are not a news organization, they should no longer receive press passes for White House briefings or any other events for which passes are needed.

Here’s the story covering that angle:

Sounds to me like Faux has already considered this, and that’s why…

…will do just enough to cover their asses.

It really frustrates me that because Fox isn’t carrying the hearings, my mom will probably never know about them. She barely pays attention to the news anyway, although it doesn’t stop her from loving Trump and hating Democrats.

The committee could buy commercial time on fox and have the message get through that way.
