If the Proud Boys’ psychiatric records are on Alex Jones’ phone (or otherwise in his possession), are they likely to still be protected by either doctor-patient or attorney-client privilege? It seems like at a certain point they’re far enough removed from their original context that they must lose that protection.
It appears to have been the psychiatric records of people suing Alex Jones in Connecticut. Basically providing proof of emotional distress. Jones’ attorney in CT sent them to Jones’ different attorney in Texas (different lawsuits, different states, hence different attorneys). Bad juju - the Connecticut judge is pissed and calling them both out on the carpet to explain themselves and make a case for not being sanctioned. They both might be looking for jobs at McDonald’s by this time next year.
I have to say that the Trumpian right-wing is doing a good job of inadvertently culling a lot of terrible lawyers from the field. I wonder how Sidney Powell is doing these days…
Ohhhh, that was pretty quick.
ETA: I Hope there is enough information in these files to prove that the whole “bankruptcy” scheme is a pile of steaming bullshit, and that money has been hidden away. Jones has already admitted on air that the “bankruptcy” scheme is merely a ploy to stall and delay - a tactic he has used continuously in these proceedings. He should be slapped down by the bankruptcy court.
Pretend I’m an idiot-is this connected up above with the lawyers being called to task and perhaps sanctioned?
Fuck around he did. Find out he will.
Yes, those are the two Alex Jones’ lawyers in question. The CT judge was on them like a puma.
Yes.
There’s going to be a lot of fallout from this, but the thing which is immediately actionable… at least from what I’ve seen… is the unauthorized release of medical records to third parties. You may remember that when Blankston announced this in court, one of the first things he mentioned was that he deleted all medical records. The docket filings above mention medical records.
The other stuff… J6, bankruptcy info, etc… will come out. But the thing which has the Court in an immediate tizzy is this unauthorized sharing of records.
Point of order-pumas are not native to Connecticut.
Apparently, of the 300GB of data that was sent mistakenly, this included
" 2.3GB of phone material, including “intimate messages with Roger Stone”
Oh. This is going to be of interest to the Jan 6 committee, I"m sure.
I don’t know that I’d want to see anything involving the words “intimate” and “Roger Stone” in close proximity.
I mean, don’t get me wrong - I am thrilled that Jones is getting reamed in court (and has more reaming to come), but this medical records stuff seems like really small potatoes related only to some lawyers. Unless I am missing something (probable!), it seems like a nothingburger.
Yes. I just threw up in my mouth a little.
It’s going to get Jones’s lawyer in Texas, and the Proud boy lawyer in Connecticut sanctioned by the court.
In the grand scheme of things, yes. But Alex Jones has been burning through a LOT of incompetent lawyers. It won’t help his cases in either state, and it won’t make hiring new ones any easier.
Neither is she. (from an article in 2013)
The 52-year-old Bellis, a product of Catholic schools, was born in Toms River, N.J.

I don’t know that I’d want to see anything involving the words “intimate” and “Roger Stone” in close proximity.
You mean a tattoo of Tricky Dick’s head doesn’t do anything for you?
:barf:
Perhaps we’ll discover Jones has a matching tattoo.
