Seriously, though. Have any of these defendants (e.g., this guy, and the ‘Trump won!’ guy) been schooled by their attorneys that they are, in fact traitors and not patriots; and that they did, in fact commit crimes?
Nope. They have been voluntarily brainwashed, in the literal sense, and it will take some serious counseling to bring them even halfway back to reality where they could function like an adult. All of the creatures who have been convicted of J6 offenses so far need this, and one would hope that is part of their rehabilitation.
Not the function of their lawyers to try to school their clients and get them to change their minds. Lawyers’ job is to give the best possible legal advice and trial work, not to counsel clients.

Yeah, watching nothing but Fox news and listening to Conservative talk radio has brainwashed at least three previously liberal friends into hardcore MAGAs. And I say “previous” also in the sense they are no longer friends. All of them were into guns, and gave into the "Obama is gonna take your guns’ lies. It only took a few years to convert them, and all of them were quite intelligent … to start.
Strangely, one of them only was into Cowboy Action Shooting guns, likely the last sort of guns anyone wants to ban.
A Proud Boy who vanished just before his sentencing has been nabbed by the Feds. Christopher Worrell tear-gassed Capitol police officers on Jan 6th, and prosecutors wanted 14 years for him before he disappeared. I’m guessing that number will increase now.

The FBI said that agents quickly surrounded and entered Worrell’s home on Thursday after he returned, found the man unconscious and “immediately provided medical attention.” Authorities say agents found night-vision goggles, $4,000 in cash, and survivalist gear in his home.
