But I’m just a Canuck; maybe a real live US lawyer would care to comment? And maybe there’s something in the DC laws that would apply? To be fair, I thought that was an odd thing as well, until I googled the words “unregistered ammo”, and read about those laws in DC.
I’ll be a bit surprised if that law isn’t challenged and overturned by our current fairly partisan SCOTUS.
I would not be so sure of that. The SOCTUS is in DC as well and at some point they could be targeted. Has anyone attempted to assassinate a sitting Supreme Court judge? I do believe they have been stalked but can’t recall any recent ones.
Not quite what I was looking for, he wasn’t actively stalking Sotomayor (yet) but was on a list.
A quick google search shows that no one has attempted to assassinate a sitting SOCTUS member. By attempted I mean actively stalking (like the VP Harris suspect) or actually taken a shot at them. I’m a bit surprised by this in that there is another level of crazy that hasn’t been tried yet.
