"5 year 7 month old girl "
This is correct, however, bear in mind, this is one record they aren’t encouraging.
Leaving aside the debate about the morality of abortion (although I realize that in the real world, that question can’t simply be left aside), an abortion would be far less harmful to her development than carrying a pregnancy to term and delivering the baby, either by c-section or vaginally. I also kind of hope some adult who cares about this child would be making that decision rather than leaving her to figure it out by herself.
I have a 12-year-old. Not only can I not imagine, I don’t want to try.
Tsarina is right Flamsterette. In addition the claim makes little to no sense. Hormones in the food, unlikely but possible cause, but that’s different than genetically altered food.
When my wife had our first child, her roommate in the hospital was a 12 year old girl who had just given birth!
I’ve heard that some scientists believe that they’ve found a better link between earlier puberty and childhood obesity, since girls usually need to weigh at least 100lbs before their periods will start. (which, conversely might explain why mine started so late) It’ll probably be years yet before on theory is proven over the other, or maybe both are found to be partly causle.
Fiver… sorry for not returning to the thread earlier to answer your question, but I see Apricot and tsarina have already elaborated my thoughts.
Incidentally… I remember having read that the “record” earliest mother was at 5 years when I was in grade school, before I even really knew about sex or puberty. I had no idea of the implications. When I mentioned it on an occasion or two, nobody believed me.
I guess it’s easier to believe these kind of things don’t happen.
Okay guys, point taken. I was merely trying to elaborate a bit on Kricket’s point: “Kind of hitting on what Fiver said there are reports that our children are developing earlier then we did because of the increase in hormornes in milk and meat.” Sorry if I cam across wrong in any way.
Elenfair, that sirte was interesting; thanks.
mrblue92, you’re right… it’s easier to believe these kinds of things don’t happen at all, but sadly, in this world of ours, they do!
I know that around my house for the past two years or so my older girls both get very crabby about the same time I do.
Which would leave me to guess that even though they don’t have a cycle there is still something going on.
And yes, now I am wondering really why did they take her from her family?
I’m hoping Tabeitha was asking seriously.
Because her parents are obviously not rich enough to afford an attorney.
There is no legitimate reason for her to be removed from her family; the failure was on the part of the nursing home, not the parents. However, this is the usual kneejerk reaction where the parents are not wealthy enough to afford an attorney good enough to make life difficult for protective services. If her parents had been wealthy (or at least well-placed in the community), she would not have been removed.
Just gotta say, that is the LAMEST thing I have ever heard.
This may not mess up her physical development. But it will play hell with her emotional development. Christ, I know 20 yr old who aren’t together enough to raise a kid.
No 10 year old can “entice” someone to have sex.
Thats a lame excuse.
She’s a child.
That said, two of my friedns had children at ages 13 and 14.
Of course, the fathers were the same age…
