Scarlett Johansen just said what it is. It’s the 50th anniversary of a much loved movie. And Lady Gaga is singing a medley. Singing it well, as it happens.
It’s, uh, interesting that they follow the “Glory” win with a tribute to the whitest musical of all-time.
On the other hand, TSOM is the voice of the revolution, right Moulin Rouge! fans? 
No excuse. It was a crappy movie then, and it’s a crappy movie now.
Considering how many movies you’ve said you see each year, that’s amazing.
Why a tribute to a fifty-year-old movie so late in the show? It’s supposed to wrap up in less than fifteen minutes. And the screenwriting, best actor/actress, director and picture awards are yet to be announced.
Ok, that was wonderful but it was still kind of wtf.

Admittedly, Desplat had a 2-in-5 chance of winning this category.
I never had any doubts about Lady Gaga’s singing chops. But, really, that whole thing was just so Lady Gaga could introduce Julie Andrews.
The Sound of Music kinda had to be white. Not a ton of people of color in the Alps during WWII.
Gaga was terrific!
I did not see Travolta. How did his wig look? He’s had a really bad time matching the coloring between his dyed side hair and the wig color.
It looked more like a dead dog than the weird dead dog they had during the “Everything is Awesome” performance.
I think he had it all black this time. I didn’t notice it not matching … just noticed it sitting atop his head like one of those old Devo wigs.
This wig was better than others I’ve seen. It’s too black and too flat, but it looked like it fit.
Eddie Murphy sounds nervous.
