9th Republican presidential debate tonight 02/13/16

I agree, but Trump supporters don’t seem to care what he does, so he seems to “win” by default.

ETA: Surprisingly good closing statement by Trump!

Rubio is going to repeal gay marriage? Wow. OK then Marco smooth move!

I defy you to find me 10 gay people who would have voted for Rubio to begin with. He lost nothing.

Huh, Chris Cilizza ranked him last (though he didn’t rank Carson at all).

Do the Pubs have more debates scheduled after this one? Are they going to keep doing this until there’s a consensus winner?

I think three debates left.

What do you mean, ‘one’?

Did anyone notice that Trump’s more liberal side came out a little more? He praised Planned Parenthood and slammed Bush over 9/11.

Yeah, that’s big. Even very few Dem officeholders go so far as to blame Dubya for 9/11 itself, despite the fact that the infamous August 6, 2001 PDB was something like the sixth in an increasingly hair-on-fire series of PDB warnings to him from our intel community that something like this was coming. So for the leading candidate for the GOP nomination to say that - that’s quite something.

I didn’t watch the debate, but this part of the transcript is cracking me up:

I also like that Trump says no one reported on Bush saying he could moon everyone, then almost immediately after says it was reported in 10 different places. Here’s what Trump was referencing if anyone is interested:

I also love how Carson used a fake quote from Stalin in his closing statement. And since it was in his closing statement, it wouldn’t have been out of nowhere, it was prepared, though evidently not researched.

Sam, the Washington Post blocks people from seeing their website more than a couple of times in a month unless they are subscribers. This means that some of us (like me) can’t see your links. Just FYI.

What’s there to think about? All the need to do is state the obvious reality (Barack Obama is the President, it is therefore his privilege and duty to select a nominee, and the Senate can either consider the nomination on its merits or act like a bunch of petulant toddlers who don’t want to eat their broccoli).

Fifteen quatloos on “act like a bunch of petulant toddlers.”

Oh strange, I feel like I’ve been going there a lot in the past few months for election stuff and it’s never blocked me. Anyway, the first link is just to the transcript, which I just excerpted the part where Trump and Bush were fighting about if anyone was going to moon anyone else and the moderator had to stop it. The second link is about the “Stalin quote” that Carson referenced, something that Snopes covered as being false.

It’s like watching a giant multivehicle crash in which the emergency response crews are a bunch of inept numbnuts who cause an even bigger multivehicle crash while trying to reach the site.

They sure do, and they can tell who you are because of cookies on your website. Definitely don’t open their links in a private/anonymous/secret window or whatever your browser calls it, or else they won’t be able to cut you off after a couple of articles.

Are those the technical terms for “porn mode”?

Wait… my browser has a “porn mode”? WHY HAVEN’T I BEEN TOLD OF THIS?

Did you ever consider asking your teen-age son or nephew?

But first, it’s time for Wangernumb!
