A belated MMP

4 and 1/4 inches of rain in the gauge.

My feet are now webbed and my throat is slitting open…

I can’t decide between the pig and the cow. Except I covet them both!

Can someone remind me: If you’re using condensed cream of chicken soup when making Le poulet de la mort, do you or do you not add the can of water? Papa Tigs needs to know. (And love the suggestion to add Tony Chachere’s Creole Seasoning for extra oomph. It adds a perfect level of oomph, doesn’t it, Spaz?)

Not much going on here today. Which is just fine by me. Everybody have a good day, okay?

OMG, people, I am SO exhausted! Didn’t get home until after 3am, only awake because the NOdoggies needed feeding, got on the computer and realized I’d written a big old post yesterday but never hit send, tried to send it but the hamsters nommed it. Will do a better job later when my braaaaaaainn arrives–I suspect it’s being sent down from the mountain via Pony Express.

Shit, can’t even type!

BTW, best party EVAR!!! Beautiful wedding, fabulous reception, more later!

Yes…add water (I’m assuming you’re using Campbell’s red-and-white labeled soup or equivalent). Otherwise, I don’t think the rice will cook properly. I was also thinking that one could add curry powder. The Chicken Divan that I make uses cream of chicken, mayo and curry. I was thinking that one could use a method similar to DC to make that, as well. I really like not having to make the rice separately.

Tree had some kind of ant (or maybe termite? ) infestation. It’s a Bradford pear, which is prone to splitting anyway. Someone’s supposed to be out shortly to clear the mess out. In fact, I think I can hear a chainsaw right now…

Back later…

DONE!!! At least done priming the ceilings and walls. And I had to do a second coat of purple - there were random speckles of white showing thru the paint, so I redid the entire room. That’s what happens when you don’t have enough light when you paint.

Tomorrow after work, we’ll go around and put mud in the random little divots which became apparent after the prime coat went on. Once that’s done, ceiling paint goes on. Then ceiling lights are installed. Then walls get painted. Things are going to move faster now. YAY!

The house smells yum - our traditional English dinner is being prepared. I’m stahvink!!! I just ate the last brownie to tide me over. SIL went to work, daughter is doing lesson plans, spousal unit is channel surfing between a movie and 2 football games. Me, I’m chillin’ and doing laundry, which is mostly chillin’.

**Rebo **- glad Ike was kind to you.

That’s all I remember I wanted to say. Or, to quote my sister: I have Alzheimer’s, but at least I don’t have Alzheimer’s."

Taters–not a can of water AND the cup of water stated in the recipe–one or the other.

I didn’t clean out the basement, but I did make cookies and cleaned out “the files”. The files are the magazine rack thingies I bought for the kids to keep their school stuff in. I have one also for work and miscellany such as take away menus. They are all nicely sorted. I try to do this before school starts each year so I am behind.

Still raining.

ETA: Yay on all your hard work almost being done, Fairy! And I wanna wedding stories, Smartie!

:confused:I didn’t say that, I don’t think. I add a cup of water to the condensed soup, that’s it.

I wish my son would hurry the hell up. We’re supposed to be at MIL’s in less than half an hour and we have to stop and pick up a gift card first. We’re going to be late, dammit. I hate being late.

The house is smelling really yum, but there are LOTS of dirty dishes… I weep for my kitchen.

On the other hand, I don’t have to cook today. But I do have to go downstairs and empty the dryer. The laundry pixies are letting me down again.

Damn them!

I’m already in my jammies.

I’m back home from [del]As the World Turns[/del] TVLand. I’ve had a nap and pizza delivery should be next. Yum.

Misting now, no longer raining.
Do need to do some housework to prevent the guilt from ruining Monday morning for me. Gah.

Hai everybody.
Glad the rain has finally taken a break, rigs. You could’ve shared a little with us, though, instead of hogging it all. Apparently, yesterday’s forecast indicating today would be “rain all day” was weatherman-speak for “sunny and humid enough to feel like a sauna”… personally, I’d have taken the rain instead.

So the in-laws have come and gone… brunch was good, but I’m a little frazzled. I have advised The Boy that future brunch invitations CANNOT be spur-of-the-moment, because I go to pieces trying to plan a menu that’s both kosher- and Crohn’s-friendly at the last minute. I know they’ll be happy with whatever I choose to serve as long as it’s edible, but I don’t like serving my guests something I’ve just tossed together without any consideration for complementary flavours or textures.

Also, The Boy is no longer allowed to go grocery shopping on his own, because it took him nearly 2 hours to get the stuff on the list (where I would’ve needed less than an hour) and he spent $12 on a bottle of sundried tomatoes in the process. Aaargh. I love him, I really do, but he’s clueless when it comes to getting things done within a reasonable amount of time.

Howdy Y’all! Lunch was yummerific, if’n I do say so myself! We ate. We drank. We were merry. The last of the guests left around 3:15. I loaded the dishwasher, turned it on and took a nap. The dishwasher is all finished and the dishes are put away. Thus, I sloth til bedtime. Well, except for the load of laundry washin’ right now which will need to be put in the dryer and then need to be folded and put away afterwards. The laundry pixies are slackin’ here too.

LiLi that video of Nat eatin’ Mr. Lissar’s nose is too funny! Between Nat and HRH we definitely have Mumper cute baby overload.

The flying pig oogies me a little bit.

Spaz the suggestion to use Tony Cachere’s is duly noted. That would add oomph to DC.

Soapy I’m in a nightshirt and white socks. I’m considerin’ a bloody mary too.

Oh, comfirmation classes… remember I said I’d be teachin’ 'em? After much discussion and trying to come up with a reasonable time and all, it has been decided that they shalt be Tuesday evenin’s from six to seven. The first class begins this Tuesday. I am all prepared to [del]whip the new recruits into shape[/del] make 'em into good little Episcopalians.

I have ingested a proper English Sunday dinner. I am stuffed! All was yummerrific.

Roast beef, roasted N.O.T., steamed carrots, green beans, and broccoli, Yorkshire pudding, all drowned in gravy. Apple crumble for later - we’re all too stuffed to eat much more now. For a veggie, our guest made a nice hunk of cow and a very tasty gravy. We are all busily digesting. And we’ve got enough leftovers for at least part of another meal - lots of beef and gravy left. yum.

My second load of clothes are in the dryer. **FCD **is watching football. Daughter is still doing her lesson plans. Guest is sprawled with a book. Doggies are also crashed.

But where did my weekend go?? I’ll be so glad when we can actually relax for a couple of days. Sheesh.

I’m Foremanizing some tequila lime chicken, with beans and cillantro lime corn and tomatoes. Tomorrow is back to work, since Nelly refuses to bark out any winning Powerball numbers. I’m still fully clothed.

Glad dinner was good, FCM.

Glad the wedding went well, Smartie.

Muppet, you can get sundried tomatoes at Dollar Tree.[/shameless plug]

I find this very disturbing doggio. Did you promise Nelly you’d get nekkid if she barked out winning Powerball numbers?

MOOOOOOM that sounds nummy! I now want a proper English Sunday dinner. Perhaps you can direct her down this way for next Sunday?

Oh,** LiLi**–he’s adorable. Keep forgetting to post that (and HRH as well!). If I believed in heaven, I think the music there is baby laughter. Such a purely joyous sound. Does a body good.
I have now posted my “resume” on the job site at work (I told the lady who holds my future in her hands I would). Thing is, the job is no longer posted. This was a chance I took. :frowning:  :dubious: <shrugs> I want the job much more after talking to Her, but don’t know if they’ll find a spot for me.
No more rain for now. Should I go running now, in the dark, or wait until tomorrow? I go for my bone density test tomorrow, too. Labs on Tuesday, followed by going out for brekkies with a friend. yay!

Woof

Sorry, swampster, she’s flying back across the pond on Tuesday.

And on that note, I think I’ll drag my sleep self back to bed.

Smoochies and gropes all around!

Nope, I just promised to quit my job if I won. Sorry to crush your little fantasy. Nelly is snoring like a chainsaw.
