Good Mornin’ Y’all! I’ve been a busy bear! Chicken is warmin’ in the slow cooker/oven thingy. Peas are cooked. Table is set. Tea is made. Rolls ready to pop into oven after church. I’m all purtified and dressed for church.
I need a nap!
Yay on the fixed AC Rebo. You have a good neighbor.
CutiePie if the following ten things are true in your life, you are, indeed living in a soap opera:
*1. The name on your drivers license is Victoria Parker O’Neil Worthington O’Neil Hollingsworth Duprey O’Neil Santiago.
Your six year old son turns 15 after Christmas break.
Everytime you drive a car, you either end up having sex or in a coma, or both!
You are caught in a love triangle until you find out that one of the guys you are torn over is your long-lost brother.
You have a sneaking suspicion that your mom has been replaced by her evil twin sister who was kidnapped while still in a coma.
Your closest friends names are Aerial, Norella, Deek, Ridge, Thorn, Amber, Brooke and Krystal.
You’re pregnant for 11 months, then have a premature baby.
Your close friends are either neurosurgeons, have eye-patches, or are eye- patched neurosurgeons. And they’re all incredibly beautiful.
You’ve only been to the grocery store once this year, and that’s when you bumped into your ex-fiance that you thought died during that vacation in the Andes.
In your last round of salary negotiations, your boss threatens to put you in a coma.*
Sorry about the craft fair MOOOOOOM. May the next one be a whole lot better.
Same thing. I thought you were a vegetarian(?)
Anyway, still raining. Pump going like mad. I got up twice last night to man the pump. This has gotten really, really old.
Off to grocery store soon and then what? Possibly clean the basement, since I’m stuck inside.
I slept in air-conditioned heaven last night. At one point I got cold, even!
Brian’s wife Jackie came over this morning and got some coffee, and I gave her a thermos with the rest of the pot. We let them borrow the generator, and they are very happy! They have lights and a working fridge, now. Poor thing said she had a migraine yesterday! I can’t imagine - though she medicated herself and slept most of the day.
My cell phone network isn’t working all that great, and I haven’t talked to my son since yesterday morning. I’ve left two messages. He had no power at that time, and I told him to come over if he wanted to.
We woke up to the tail end of Ike pouring rain all over us again. 2-4" is not necessary! It’s tapering off now, and we’re supposed to get a cool front in the next day or so! Lows in the low 60’s, highs in the low 80’s with dry air, not humid. Yay! It will be nice for the cleanup.
My dad is jonesin’ for football. All that is on the regular channels is news, news, news. I’ve looked for streaming NFL but can’t seem to find any free sites. He doesn’t want to watch it on the 'puter anyway, he needs his easy chair.
Oh, BTW, our conversion to AT&T U-verse was quick and painless, and held up through the storm.
Have a great Sunday, y’all, and count your blessings. Just 'cause.
Mr. Lissar’s off at Mass, I’m about to lazily do some chores, Nat’s asleep, and we’ve got a Rainfall Warning for the afternoon, so I expect work will be dead this evening. I hope the boss doesn’t show up and hug me. He sometimes comes by on Sundays, He’s about a foot and a half taller than me, and I’m afraid of being crushed.
I should go do some stuff. Later!
Mine don’t fly. When I get the camera back next week I’ll take pictures of them.
There’s lots of video of a guy getting beat up by a Lenoir Co. sheriff’s deputy at the ECU game on the 6th if he’d like to see that. It’s been an interesting week in Pirate Country.
Changed my schedule around because it’s supposed to rain this afternoon and the lawn was looking embarrassingly awful (which, for me, is saying a lot; I’m always the last to mow). Now I’m off to 12:00 mass… Back later with actual responses, o chatty Mumpers.
Good morning everyone. I’m up, the coffee just finished brewing, and now I shall attempt to become fully cognizant.
BooFae, I noticed you said you were going to use breasts. I think you’ll notice a richer flavor if you use thighs. That’s what I use, although I prefer chicken breasts most of the time.
We had a lovely time over at our friend’s girlfriend’s friend’s house. I’m going to have to come with a new way of saying that. Anyway, she’s an extremely gracious hostess and fun person to boot. She made a terrific dinner of lasagna, salad, steamed green beans, and garlic bread. We all ate, drank, and in general, had a great time.
I’m sorry about the craft fair, FCM. I hope the next one is better.
Rebo, sounds like you’ve got a great neighbor.
Pie, the live plants we purchased were supposedly supposed to be snail free. I am on the lookout for the things though. We ended up buying a few more fish yesterday. We bought two electric blue gourami, two bumblebee catfish, and another oscar.
Today, we’re supposed to go to MIL’s place for dinner. This usually means we have to show up at 2:00.:dubious: I wish she’d have us come over just a little later.
aerinlissar.blogspot.com (Coding for the pathetically hopeless) I got a very short video of Nat’s favourite cannibalistic activity yesterday. I think it’s pretty cute.
Um, how do I make links hidden by text?
When you click the URL button you paste in the link. After hitting “OK” the name of the link is highlighted in the reply box. Just start typing the text you want and it will replace it.
I’m partial to the cow myself…
Off to a school picnic. I made a pasta salad, but maybe a touch too much garlic-- it has quite a bite!! Oh well!
So, apparently there are multiple ways to cover your link with text. Now that we’re up a few versions of vBulletin, I just highlight the text I want the link to be behind, click on the link button (to the right of the indent button) and then paste the link into the pop-up. Glad to know Soapy’s method, because I still think that the old way works about 1/2 the time I go to post links.
Love the video, LiLi. They both look like they’re having fun! And congratulations on mastering the art of posting blog links. (Which led me to a lovely beet salad that Muppet just posted. I already have beets and was going to make borscht, but I might also make a similar salad.
Yes, my vacation is over, Roo. It was only a week. Sadly. I could use another week. Maybe soon.
Stopped at the demonstration and learning gardens at OSU on my way back from church. I’d been meaning to stop all summer and forced myself to stop, even though I felt like I was in a hurry. Lovely stuff. Need to go back with camera.
Came home and found that there was an enormous tree branch blocking my street a few houses away. Yes, it’s very windy. I’m guessing it’s an ornamental pear that split. The older varieties are very prone to that. And there went another branch. Guess I’ll go take a peek from a safe distance to see if they’re bringing the tree down on purpose now.
