A Big Yellow Shiney Thingey

Since you live in the UK, I’m guessing that by “hot”, you mean… 20 degrees? 22? :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s hotter in England today than it is in Marrakesh and Bangkok. And it’s getting hotter. 35 (95F) by Wednesday I hear. The difference, of course, between us whiners and people from hot developed countries, is we don’t have a/c! Almost no houses do, and few cars. It’s 33 (91F) in my office at the moment. I’ve got a fan on my desk but that’s it.

Goodness it’s hot.

FlyingRamenMonster I note you’re in Perth. Keep away from the shoreline.

It’s the hottest day this year so far in my parts. Supposed to hit 32c, but feel like 37c with the humidity. We’ve got air in the office, albeit with rather poor circulation, so I also have a fan blowing across my desk right now. I intend to go out only as necessary.

Would some nice fresh roadkill work? I saw an armadillo that I know for sure was less than a hour freshly killed on my way into work.

It hit 112 here the other day.

I hate all of you.

I like the heat, I really do, I don’t mind it one bit. It’s the 70% humidity that’s killing me. I think I’ve forgotten how to breathe.

Yes, but it’s a dry heat.

I’ve got a/c at home and in the car

smirk

Forgot to add that the a/c in the house is really piss poor

wipes 1/2 smirk off face

Its been good fun here, imagine being locked in a workshop in 30 odd degree heat, the work has been completed and we are stuck in here with nothing to do, and the 30 or so others in the workshop are convicts, my colleague and I are the only ones that are not.

At least the gaffers have decided to postpone the smoking ban, but when they decide to enforce it, I am not booking any holidays for that time, the lid will be lifted off the jail and we won’t be required at work, no point in wasting good leave when you can get it free.

Good thing the rain’s holding back with that yellow thingy about. If it indeed is “The Sun” it’s electric. Water and electricity don’t mix.

Yup, the lack of AC is the kicker. Fans aren’t much help when all they do is shift the warm air around, and our house gets a lot of sun. :frowning:

I wonder if your BYST is the same one I saw in the sky in California back in April?

At least in the East Bay, it’s been just as bad here as it is where you are.

Must add my ha’pennies worth. I witnessed a terrible phenomenom taking place in Brighton just this afternoon. That is the hordes of scantily clad females strolling the streets not 100 yards from my office. Bikini’s, shorts, skimpy skirts, thin blouses stretched over large chests. It has to stop immediately.

On a side note its 'kin hot here too JJimm. A/C haha. Fans doing a great job of keeping the warm air flowing. Have to keep taking doses of caffeinne to try and stay awake :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: Although a walk around the corner seems to sort that out.

…Stonehenge will release the Daleks?

My city’s gritting lorries are on standby, just in case that big yellow shiney thing melts the roads tomorrow. Seriously, the council’s worried that our roads will melt.

What can I say, I’m in the west country. We fear shiney things.

Currant bun=sun

[badbadger] Couldn’t agree more, bloody disgraceful all these nubile young wenches flaunting their sun kissed firm young bodies for all and sundry to ogle.

I’m off to the park to remonstrate with them RIGHT NOW!!!
