A Bowl Full of Paper Clips. The Hold It Together MMP

LiLi, my daughter’s friend just had her twins yesterday! A split decision.

The world needs more girls, bring home two!

I know that, but how can anyone know that the piece of paper actually belongs to you? Just because I have something that says I was born in San Diego in 1954, what’s the proof that it’s my piece of paper? One of my dad’s sisters was born in Poland and the other 2 were born in the US. They were all close enough in age that I expect they could present each other’s certificates and no one would blink.

I don’t know that there’s a better way to do it, but it still seems silly to me.

Yeah, I think the birth certificate thing is dumb too.

I actually have to write to Oklahoma for my birth certificate. The only birth certificate I have is the old copy of a microfiche birth certificate from the military hospital I where I was born. Years ago, this was acceptable for me to receive my security clearance at work (I work for the military), but not now. I know I need to get one, but I always let it slip my mind. The last time I checked, I couldn’t just do it on-line. I actually had to write to them.

Fortunately, my husband was born here, so we can just head down to the county office and get one in person. I don’t remember him having to show his birth certificate four years ago. If he had, we would have had it where I keep our important papers.

<snerk>!

I swear I don’t do this stuff for attention!
Thanks. We’ll find out in about nine weeks. I’ve been doing some reading and I’m a little terrified- bedrest, higher degree of SIDS, more respiratory problems- but we’ll see. I’m going to be spherical pretty soon.

Mr. Lissar’s at the dojo tonight. After the kids’ bedtime I’m going to lie on the couch and watch movies. I think I should get into the self-pampering routine now, because it’s going to disappear pretty soon.

No, **LiLi **- it’s time to train those two slacker sons of yours to wait on you hand and foot… Tell 'em the free ride is over!

I finished the last of the mudding - last of the first coat, I should say. I also did a little bit of sanding - very little. I think that’s the way it’ll have to go - do a little, wipe the dust, remud as needed. My arm can’t take sanding the whole freekin’ basement! Plus I need to get some dust masks - koff koff - I don’t need sheetrock snot… or is that TMI??

In any case, I’m done in the basement. I ran the dryer for a few minutes to de-wrinkle the stuff that sat in there. I just took a shower and I feel 1000% better. I b’lieve I shall watch some TV before starting supper. I deserve a break, dammit!

No, TMI is firefighting snot.

Giving your network a crass name like that in Hippy Hollow would probably result in more people trying to use it.

ETA: Good googly-moogly Li-Li!

Rotissed chickie for supper 'twas yummerrific. There’s tons leftover, so I’ll be chopping it up for chickie salad tomorrow. And I just ordered a sink for my studio - I should get it next week, so yay! And dishes are done, so I can chill for the rest of the evening.

Life is good!

Congrats, Lili! I bet those’ll be some beeyootifull babies!! Maybe they’ll get famous in a Double-Mint gum commercial some day…

MOOOOOOM reading about your 'tirement makes me feel tired. Good for you not slowing down. I’m far from 'tirement but have been going at a snail’s pace all week.

Great to hear good job news for a change, chaoticbear! Best of luck to you!

I hope they get your interweb all sorted out, swampy. I never thought about giving web networks names, but I figured yours would be called the swampwork.

I did a change-up and had pastrami for my lunch-meat supper. I still had pickles on the side. It was klind of a crappy day between irk and the death-defying commute. Funny how pickles can make you feel better.

Bri2k

P.S. If FCD is near Steelers country when he visits PA, I can reccomend good local eats. That’s if he can get around all the Batman filming that’s going on. They actually made it snow downtown here today.

Now we know why you so extra pukey, Lili:slight_smile:
Seriously, Congratulations!

Howdy Y’all! I irked, came home, nuked leftovers for dindin and went to Evenin’ Prayer/Healin’ service at the church house. Now I’m back at da cave and chillin’ for a bit before beddy bye time.

Yays, boos, hugs, kisses, noogies, wedgies, how you doin’s all around. Take what you need.

Nitey Nite Y’all!

Et some yummy fish with a side of yummy smooshed N.O.T..

urp

I had a KFC chicken bowl. Mr. Taters and I stopped on the way home from our eye exams with our stylin’ eye doctor shades and picked up dinner for all of us.

My vision is still blurry actually.

I am definitely feeling old. I was told that I have crystallization right smack-dab in the center of each eye. Basically, that’s the beginning of cataracts. I could be good for three months or three years, maybe longer, but as soon as my vision starts blurring, I will need cataract surgery. I am 47 years old for gawd’s sake!

We didn’t stop to pick out frames or order glasses since our vision was still messed up from the dilation, not mention the fact the light…well, it buuuuurrrrrrnnnnnnned.

We’ll go tomorrow to pick out new specs.

I’m glad the job prospects are looking up, CB.

Congrats to the Lissars and good wishes for smooth sailing ahead. (And I agree: put those boys to work! I mean, really, Thomas is what? Practically 2? Almost a grown-up in my book.)

I, too, am thinking pink.

Glad the job stuff is going well, chaotic one.

Sorry about the eye news, Taters. At least we live in a time when cataract surgery has become practically routine and has a very short recovery period.

There was more I wanted to say, but I’m tired and have forgotten.

Long day. Long week, really, so far. Is it Firday yet?

Hugs.

GT

We had hot dogs “braised” in beer, with leftover chili. I made fresh macaroni salad.

I stayed a half hour late, because I r dum. I screwed up the placement of a component, and had to fix everything. I got most of it done, but the rest can wait until Monday.

Yay for hot job prospects, CB!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ YAWN ‘Tis 75 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 97 and, so they say, rain in the forecast. It probably will because I want to mow this evenin’.

Taters sorry about the news re the eyes. Like gt said though, we live in an age when cataract surgery is pretty routine so at least there’s that.

donkeybear forgot to say yay on the job prospects. However, droolin’ on co-irkers is generally frowned upon. :stuck_out_tongue:

Now I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy demands to be fed. Then, alas, purtification for irk must commence. Rah.

Happy Thursday Y’all!

Oh and just in case she sneaks in here today…

Hey, yeah, where the heck has **Dotty **been? Last time she posted, which was ages ago, she was really busy at work, if I recall. Perhaps I’ll try to email her.

Brick, I was about to ask if you were Dave who sat next to me at work, but he didn’t have sammiches for lunch - he mostly had soup. But he *lurved *pickles. When I’d get a sammich from the deli, I’d let Dave have the pickle, and he’d always be looking for more. Wonder if anyone is giving him pickles now that I’m gone?

Today’s main plan is to finish painting my studio so we can install the shelves along the one wall. I don’t know if I’ll go with boring white or use the dribs and drabs of leftover paint from other projects and have a multi-colored wall. Decisions, decisions… I’ll decide when I finally head down there.

Happy Thursday, all! Hope **doggio **is getting some real vacation time in there…

Blurf.

Carry on.

Don’t you have some leftover purple?

Bobbio check your email. I sent you an ecard for your birthday, and was just now notified it was never picked up. So I have corrected your email address, and I just had to send it again.

I am home, sipping coffee. Yay for vacation days! I have to take Dad in for a dr appointment at 11:00, and sometime today I will go pick up my knife from the pro sharpener, and drop off a couple more.

I wish I could learn the art of knife sharpening. :frowning: I suck at it.
