I have nothing to add. But I wanted to say hi. ::waves::
Wow, **Hank, ** that is amazingly short notice. Did he at least let you know what kind of class you’d be teaching? Sounds rather like my workplace, really.
Home from work. Maggie took a dump on the floor in front of the TV(Type 3). That should connect multiple thought in this MMP. She’s still a little down, she was merely happy to see me, not insane with joy like she usually is. It’s 67 Amurikin and cloudy here. I think I’ll make a meatloaf, with sweet N.O.T. and corn on the cob.
puggy, I’ll let Maggie’s vet know his handiwork is appreciated.
BioTigs, That’s why I don’t watch TV anymore. They usually kill my favorites(Firefly).
Good to see you, Rosie! Do your exercises so you are fit to minister to Smoky’s needs like a good human.
I’ll be in my bunk.
::waves at taxi::
Haze, maybe you’ll be teaching Underwater Basketweaving 101.
Good luck with the moves FCM and Taters
I’ll be teaching Composition 101 and 102. Fortunately I have sample syllabi and assignments from my “Teaching at the Comm. College” class last quarter, so I have some resources to work with. But they (the college) don’t know that - for all they know I got nothing.
Underwater Basketweaving sounds like it’d be fun to teach, though. :)Unfortunately we never covered that in my Comm. College class. Shame, really. Leaves me woefully unprepared.
I had supper at Le Maison de Gaufre. Impressive huh? Ol’ y’all know who took me out for a quick supper because he has some paperwork stuff to get done tonight poor thing, so no appreciatin’ shall be done tonight.
Oh, and JoeDawg is here. As I post he is sprawled (well, as much as a chee-hoo-ah-hoo-ah can sprawl) upon the sofa. His special bedspread and blankie are spread across the sofa. Sofa time is happy time apparently cause he does not get to do this at home only at the nanny’s. The spoiling rotten has commenced!
That’s because the guys were, uh … busy.
Although after that wonderfully prurient imagery, I suddenly got a certain Monty Python song stuck in my head…
Whelp, I’m home. Another week almost in the basket, and then that lovely Victoria Day long weekend. Woohoo! Fireworks all over the place.
Puggy - Fark. That should pretty much say it all.
Update on the Mom front, or should I say Mom’s front?
She had the surgery yesterday and last I’d heard was doing OK. It’s an outpatient procedure now, and due to delays or other emergencies at the hospital, she didn’t get into the OR when planned, and at 10:30 PM, they sent her home. No “It’s late, so you might as well stay the night” but “Your insurance called. Go home!”
If all goes as planned (depending on the lab results) they’ll be using a new technique called MammoSite - rather than the old style radiation treatments that take weeks, they’ll place a catheter into the breast and a radioactive “pill” is inserted into the catheter, right against the site where the tumor was. They’ll do this twice a day for 20 minutes per session.
She’s really geeked about this - MammoSite takes only five days instead of seven or eight weeks, doesn’t burn the skin like external bombardment, and because it’s so carefully focused, the overall dose to the body is less. So, she’ll probably keep her hair this time around.
Ain’t medical technology grand?
Wow, that sounds like a cool procedure, gotti. If you have to have that type of thing, it sounds like a great option.
Hugs for rosie! It’s almost evening, so it won’t be too long before it’s late evening and brother will be there. Hope his arrival cheers you up.
I’m home and need to go out and do some gardening. Unusual, right?
Back later…
GT
I have finally gotten motivated. Finally. My resume is all updated, and been sent out to several awesome looking positions. And I have 2 interviews tomorrow. Woot!
gotti, that’s great news!
Hang in there, rosie!
taxi, for your yarn question, you want a smooth, light colored, worsted weight for your first project, which shouldn’t be hard with a baby blanket. Stay away from boucle, chenille, and eyelashy stuff for now. Look for yarn that feels soft against your neck and the inside of your wrists since babies have very sensitive skin. Oh, and make sure it’s machine washable.
No TMI for me, so here’s a fortune cookie:
Judge one not by his charms, but by his qualities.
<snerk> IN BED! <snerk]
gotti great news about mom’s front… errr… on the mom front. Here’s hopin’ it does the trick.
gt I was just thinkin’ about how I’ve gotten to be kinda like you as of late. See, I’ve spent several days plantin’ stuff around our new church building and am goin’ to do it again this Saturday morning.
gotti, that is GREEEEAAT news about your mom. I sure wish they would have done that Mamo-site thing on my mother last fall. She did the radation the old fashioned way and her skin is really burned.
Another day, another dime; well 2.5 cents after Uncle Sam is done.
Nothing too exciting going on here. The hubby and I took a drive to the liquor store to pick up some adult beverages for Saturday night’s shindig. Saturday morning, I’ll pick up munchie type food.
Tomorrow night, I’m being taken out for my birthday. My birthday is really until Saturday, but since we’re having a “do”, tomorrow night is nice dinner time with the hubby and kids.
So, that’s my exciting life. I know you’re all so very envious.
Time to cook up some chop-chop.
So my closing is moving ahead. YAY!
Utilities and phone arranged. YAY!
Wireless internet arranged - yes it is! Whoo and Hoo. So I should be around a little more when I have access at home…
On the sad news front my Dad needs a hip replacement - he has an appointment with the surgeon in Mid-June. So potentially I may need to go home when he has the surgery as my Mam has MS and won’t be able to help him out somy sister and I will pitch in. Yay I get to go home but Booooo for the reason. I may also be putting off my wedding depending on when the surgery is. (I may nothave mentioned I was getting married…)
But I went wedding dress shopping last night as planned. I was NOT looking forward to it as I am so far removed from being a girly girl (I work in the oil industry and even as a manager i was out in hard hat, boots & coveralls today) but the dress shopping was fun. I think I found THE dress!
ems
I’m done claying for the night. Trimmed 3 dishes and a support tool. Threw a big dog dish, but not quite big enough. The biggies will require an armature mold, but I know how to do that now.
I’m closing windows - it’s supposed to drop into the 40s tonight. Stoopit weird weather.
It’s almost Friday - YAY!
That’s all. I need my beauty sleep. <yawn>
Jahdra, congratulations on getting motivated and good luck on the two interviews tomorrow. You’re my new inspiration. Thanks for that.
gotti, thanks for the info. on your mom’s procedure. It really is good to hear that medical technology is improving. Good luck and good healing to your mom.
rosie, your brother should be there by now, so I hope you’re doing lots better.
Only because I had to shampoo carpet tonight, and I’m just now reading this.
How you doin’?
Congrats on the impending marriage, ems! Sorry about Dad’s hip; glad to hear that you and your sister will be able to help out, though. And yay! on all the house stuff, of course.
And an early HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Taters!!! I’m hoping I’ll remember to repeat that on Saturday…
Off to bed early again…
GT
gotti, that’s wonderful news about your mother! I hope everything goes well.
ems, you can’t post about a wedding dress without posting pics as well.
Way cool on the MammoSite thing, gotti! I hope it goes as well as you’re all hoping and that her recovery is swift and complete!
And congrats, ems, on the house closing and the upcoming nuptuals! You do know we need to see a photo of THE dress, right? And sorry about your dad’s surgery, but hey, bionic joints are good! I hope it goes well for him. Tell him that no matter how much he hates it, he has to do his physical therapy – it really works!
See, throwing giant dog bowls is helping you master important techniques, FCM! I can’t wait to see the results – and I know the Idiots will be thrilled with your efforts! (Actually, probably not, but as long as they contain food, they’ll act like they’re thrilled.
)
Good luck with the interviews, Jahdra!
Sounds like JoeDawg the chee-hoo-ah-hoo-ah is having his usual difficult time staying with you, UrsineOne. It’s a shame you never let him get away with things at your house that he can’t do at home.
And I hope your brother is there and you’re feeling less stressed, Rosie! Hang in there, you’ll be through this rough time soon and you will sooo appreciate the results.
I was a good girl, thanks to the swift kicks in my rear you guys delivered; got the job done that I really, really wanted to get done by COB today. Just because I was sick to death of it – a meeting with one guy who insisted on interrupting everybody, trying to outshout everybody, and generally being a know-it-all, and a really stupid one at that. And not even congresspeople, for a change! No, this was something entirely different. If it didn’t pay so well, I wouldn’t keep doing this person’s jobs, but she really forks out the $$ for me to put up with people like this idiot. So up with it I put.
And now I’m going to go surf a bit and then give up for the evening. No late night for me tonight!
Oh, please. I belong to a volunteer firehouse. You think I haven’t heard potty humor or inappropriate farts? It is to laugh!
It’s like hanging out with a bunch of grown-up 12-year-olds. :smack:

ems! You’ve been a naughty girl! I don’t remember you posting anything about an upcoming wedding! I’m very happy for you though. Congrats on both the upcoming nuptials and the house closing. I’ll keep your Dad in my thoughts.
Rosie, I hope you’re doing a little better now.
Bibs, firefighters got nothin’ on truck drivers when it comes to toilet humor and farts. Trust me on this one…
I think I’m going to watch some TV now. Time to wind down.
