I wish Swampy would come to Kentucky and be my personal chef.
Very cool OP. Being in the county where the first English settlers landed in Merrylande, we have lots of very old graveyards and cemeteries, including a pretty cool one about a mile from us. One of these days, daughter and I intend to go there and look at the old stones.
When we lived in Virginia, there were small plots in our neighborhood - I’m guessing they were old family plots that the development grew around. Sadly, they were well-vandalized. Some people are such jerks.
This place was right up the street from the house where I grew up. When out of town relatives would come visit, we’d walk thru looking at the markers. The ones that killed me had stuff like “Mookie - Part of our Hearts are Buried Here” - I’m fond of my critters, but that seemed extreme. There was also a family of mice in one plot, and a snake, and other critters that I forgot about.
In non grave news, um, I got nothing. Just another freekin’ day in paradise. Steak sammiches for supper. Early to bed, I hope. Stewart/Colbert rally on Saturday. There’s my week…
Madden tombstone photo - safe for anywhere
And browse John’s other images. He and I have lurked a lot of the same graveyards over the years but he always carries a camera.
And for the real nuts like us who dress the part
I’m the only one I know of. There’s a bunch down Charlotte way.
Ruble on line tombstone shoppin’. What will they think of next!
Ellen I require a Tudor Mansion and a salary of a hundredk a year. Just let me know.
Dindin is et. I decided on succotash as an extra veggie just cause, well, I opened the freezer and mine eyes beheld the succotash.
Sometimes I wish I could get back to Kentucky. I can cook, but am nowhere near Swampy’s caliber.
I had one of the Mondayest Mondays I’ve had in a long time. Blurf.
Cool OP and additional cemetery-related posts.
Faraway Best Friend learned how to drive in cemeteries.
Green Lawn Cemetery is supposed to be really interesting. I’ve managed to live in Columbus for way too close to 30 years without ever having been there. Seems to me there was even a tour with a group from the park where I volunteer, but…I missed it.
Nice closing line!
We keep offering him a traveling chef gig, but he hasn’t taken anyone up on it yet. Boo.
ETA: rosie: hope the rest of your Monday is less Monday-line.
Home, pondering what to have for dinner. Then I really need to get some work done (while watching a movie).
Hugs all.

All right. Supper has been ingested and cleaned up after. A load of wash is now in the dryer. Tomorrow’s supper is in the fridge waiting to be popped in the oven tomorrow afternoon (broccoli-rice casserole) and I’m winding down.
For the record, I’m ready for Friday… Or ice cream. Ice cream will be quicker.
I irked, I went and had dinner at the Bistro, now I’m home. 2 days till hockey is back in town. Yay! Woohoo!
Neat story, VBob!
Thanks for the link, Spaz.
Hope Tuesday si better for you, rosie
May I please be done putting stoooopit files together? We have to load them tomorrow and I’m not done QAing them. Grrrrrrrr. Stoooopit work.
Back eventually.

Files done. Will review again in the ayem to make sure there isn’t anything else weird about them.
Tired.
Short of pronouns.
Should be asleep.

A belated MMP (it’s an hour into Tuesday here) but I got a phone call from my landlady yesterday so it’s sort of a Monday topic.
I figured at first she was calling me to tell me another realtor was coming though - they’ve been trying to sell the building for a couple of years now. But it wasn’t that.
She was just calling to let me know that I was a good tenant (?). And that the family in the other half of the building were moving out. I said that was somewhat surprising because they had just moved in a couple of months back. So my landlady told me that haven’t been paying the rent. And apparently the mother of the family has told people where she works that they’re planning on moving out. Unbeknownst to them, my landlady knows people at this workplace so that information got back to her. So my landlady is bringing in somebody on Wednesday who’s interested in renting the apartment.
This sounds like the set-up for a wacky sit-com. The mother is apparently planning on sneaking out but doesn’t think the landlady knows this. But the landlady does know and she’s going to show up with somebody who’s supposedly going to move in. I’m speculating that this new tenant, whoever he or she is, is unaware of what they might be walking into Wednesday when they find out that the apartment they want to rent is still occupied. Penis will no doubt ensue.
So I was still concerned one one important issue - did any of this involve me? I asked to make sure I understood - the person coming Wednesday is only looking at the apartment next door to mine. I guess I was just notified in case I hear a lot of shouting or something. (The landlady also asked me if the family was ever noisy and I answered truthfully that they aren’t.)
Up to this point I was sort of sympathizing with my landlady. It does appear she has a valid complaint with the people next door. But then she went on to talk about her ongoing efforts to sell the house and her hopes that the real estate market will improve after the election. People apparently aren’t buying real estate because they’re worried about the country going socialist. But she’s been praying that things will get better. I said “uh huh”.
So now I’m just deciding if I want to be here Wednesday, sitting back and waiting to see if there’s a trainwreck, or do I want to avoid it all and spend the day out of town.
G’morning all; up and caffeinating here. Happy Tuesday!
Hope your Tuesday is better than your Monday, Rosie. Thanks for sharing your tale, Bobbbio, hope your sciatica is doing better. GT, hope the file transfer goes okay today! Hugs and trouts and good wishes to others, as appropriate. Whew!
My Dad is in the hospital; his liver enzymes are off and he may have problems with his kidneys. They kept him overnight and are doing some more testing today, so please keep him in your thoughts and prayers; he’s 81, btw. Thank you.
Up, caffeinated, off to irk.
prayers sent for you and dad, Hebs.
Nemo, I’d hang out in a bar till the drama is over.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’.
Herbs prayers and good thoughts headed out to your father from south Jawja!

Nemo video it. Ya never know when you’ll be the next youtube sensation! Or do what doggio said.
Need more caffiene and some brekkies.
Later Y’all!
Happy Tuesday! Up and at work. Gorgeous day: the wind is blowing and the clouds are hauling <snerk> butt <snerk>. And the clouds have a purplish hue to them. It would be a perfect day for trick or treat, if it were the 31st and not 7am.
Nemo, since your landlord cared enough to give you a heads-up, I’d stay there just in case she needs help. You could also document anything you hear just in case. Otherwise, I’d pop some popcorn and listen to the fireworks. (Yes, I know. I’m MEAN.)
Where are my manners!

herbs - Prayers said for your father and your family. It’s so hard watching parents age.
Car overheated on the way to work today. I limped in the last couple miles, and it’s cooling in the parking lot now so I can check fluid levels, etc. Any guesses why it’s overheated? It just turned over 175,000 miles, and I gave it the 200K pep talk.

Cool! It’s Rockin’ Rebo Day! Hippo, Birdie, Two Ewe!
