A Change in Plans MMP

Had all the fun I could stand at tonight’s Scare on the Square. It was very people-y there, and 20 degrees hotter than it ought to be at the end of October - even in sunny subtropical Jawja. My 10-minute costume was Carmen Sandiego, because I happened to know where my boots, red raincoat, and hat were. I looked awesome, but I regretted the whole get up before I made it through the parking lot.

Cataloged and priced about 100 more items for the booth today. One more big push tomorrow, and I should be able to pack everything on Monday.

Gotta buy some groceries, too. Ate Zaxby’s tonight, because I was absolutely wilted from the heat. At least there are no family Halloween events tomorrow - Girl 2.0 is going to the college’s haunted to-do with friends, but that’s between her and the chauffeur. I guess I need to sponge off the Littles’ costumes for Monday, but that will be my only nod to the hullabaloo tomorrow.

Rosie’s sig to all, and to all a good night!

Another Fantasy Fest Shuttle done and safely. I won’t know how many riders until I count the money on Moanday. I got home at 0330. Was not even capable off counting money especially most of it being one dollar bills. Tahred.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 58 Amurrkin and clear out with a predicted high of 87 and sunny for the day. Like Peaches said, waaaaaaaaaaay to warm for even sub-tropical south Jawja this time of year. Today I am a Lutheran. I shall be the readin’ kind of Lector at the nine a.m. service, hence the reason for bein’ up and at 'em now. Today is also Reformation Sunday which is big amongst Luteruns. One is supposed to wear red so I shall don a bright red short sleeved shirt. I shall be seen!

Butters glad everything went well. I trust you are sound asleep as I post. I also trust it shall be some point later in the day when we next hear from you.

OK, I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants sustenance. Purtification for Luterun style deheathenization must also commence soonest.

Happy Sunday Y’all!

Lather. Rinse. Repeat.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. I’m off today.

I’m wearing red today because it’s a hockey game.

HaveAgood day, sleep, Butters.!

It hit 82F here yesterday too. We’re looking at a week in the upper seventies to mid eighties. Way too warm to begin November.

Glad you got everyone shuttled, butters.

Aside from the usual Sunday chores, I’ll likely get out on the bike again today. Other than that, nappage shall ensue.

All done being Holier-Than-Most and planning on Bessie-buffing. Rain later today but for now its a lovely summer day.

Gordie has been walked, the second pot 'o java is brewing, and Alex Catt is having the zoomies. ahhh, Sunday.

Howdy Y’all! Home from Luterun style deheathenization and Fifth Sunday Breakfast. We brought donuts from DD cause DD is on the way to the church house. Anywho, we’ve been fed, thus chillage shall ensue. Nappage is envisioned.

Happy Sunday!

It’s a cloudy 79 degrees outside, the windows are open and the fan is running. Supposed to get up to 83, and then the temps drop back down in the 60s. The bounce back up to the 80s. Anytime I don’t have to run the heat or the AC I’m happy.

I should be busy doing things but I’m feeling lazy.

I slept about 6 hours so I hope I will sleep well tonight. I cooked up a pot of collards and chicken and dumplings. Was good even if I do say so.

Blurf

According to my phone it is N.O.S. and 80 degrees outside. According to my window it is pouring rain outside.

Went to the Loreena McKennitt concert last night with Mr. & Mrs. Irish Storyteller. It was fan.tas.tic. She has the most magnificent voice I have ever heard. Probably the best concert I’ve ever been too. starry-eyed

So today I end up with a mild feeling of malaise and stomach-urpiness and have to miss a tiny Halloween party. Stupid life balancing things out.

It’s been a nice, lazy Sunday afternoon at da cave. Leftover bbq has been ingested and chillage continues.

{{{BigKitty}}} feel better soonest.

I’ve had such a good weekend I don’t want to go back to work.

I talked to my sister on the phone, we are both Audobon Society members although I’m more of a lurker, while she’s REaLLY into it.

There’s a presentation at 7:00PM, November 8, about the local pergrine falcon box downtown, and how it’s overseen by the company the nesting box is on. It’s going to be great, but I wanted to ask my sister how long it will last, as it’s election night and I want to watch returns. She says it will be only an hour or so, so I can get home fast afterwards, and I doubt there will be any siginficant results by 8:15PM CST. Whew, I want to see shots of the Donald fuming in frustration.

Got out on the bike for a few miles earlier. Day-um, am I out of shape in the 3 months since I last rode (7 of them being in a boot) but it felt good.

Then I tried to go over to the park for a bit of a walk enroute to the supermarket as it was 77° & sunny out. Driving over there’s some low grey clouds which made the rising cloud towers still in the sun that much brighter. Parked & got out of the car & notice it’s quite dark in the west & heard a little rumble. Meh; continued on. A bit further on hear another rumble, followed by the siren from the nearby golf course. Go back to the car & close up all the windows from the slightly open position & decide to walk around the parking lot as it wasn’t yet raining & that doesn’t put me too far from the car if/when it starts. Ended up walking about ¼ of the parking lot perimeter before making a beeline back to my car as the heavens opened up.

Sitting in the car, nice & dry I pulled up the Storm app - Holy $#!%!!! I’ve never seen something that big & bad so close. Drove over to the supermarket parking lot but the wipers were on high & there were no spaces anywhere near the store - I don’t need food that bad so I came home. Good thing I did, too. There are a number of local roads that were closed with trees/wires down.

Got the Road Kow all waxed and sealed and covered for the winter. Yeah - the temps are up. But I still have the Sportster since it stays out year round and all the chrome and all on the other is just too tough to risk getting it caught with rock salt dust.

Dinner was pork chops browned in an iron skillet and then baked in the same skillet; much yummy.

Have you seen the video of the hawk in Nebraska that’s made friends with the local news station’s tower cam?

That reminds me, I need to get some mead for election night. I’ll need some serious booze for when the whining begins.

I had my beast out today too. a friend and I rode down to Lynchburg on the back roads. I’ll likely put the bike in storage in another month or so. It really doesn’t get too cold to ride here until about January.

I also had pork chops browned in the skillet, but there’s where we parted ways. :stuck_out_tongue: I put some tomatoes over them, then eggplant and zucchini after taking the pork out. It wasn’t bad.

Well, the hockey game was a let down, but I got French style chicken Bachelor Food cooking ,so at least I have good food and cold beer.
