A Cheap Chawklit MMP

Well, this is a surprise. I woke a few hours ago with chills. Now I’m achy and running a little fever. I had zero symptoms after booster #1, which I hoped meant that vaccination #2, which did have miserable symptoms, had me primed to kick COVID to the curb. I see this as a reminder of how badly I don’t want to get COVID. This messes with my plans, but not like COVID would.

Taters, what do you plant to attract hummingbirds? I plant fuchsia in a window box on my balcony railing. I love hummingbirds, too!

I really wish I’d taken photos of the Dress That Ate Washington. OTOH, it’s someone’s dream dress, so maybe that would have been mean of me.

Magic, I had to fight to get surgery two months after I found the mass. (They’re VERY slow to schedule appointments here.) I don’t think docs fully realize how hard it is psychologically to walk around knowing you have a tumor growing–however slowly–inside you. At least, it was hard for me. Having been through hell, you and Mrs. M.may be made of sterner stuff. Also, the support sites are wonderful, BUT they can give a skewed view because women with more severe cases are more apt to post. A poster told me this early on, and it helped.

nettie, sounds like you’ve developed the best plan possible under the circumstances. I’m glad we have Nurse Boo here–and YOU, too!

Hi, honeys, I’m home!!!

OK, I’ve been home for a bit - we got off the ship just after 8 and were in our car on the way home before 9. We got to the house around 10:30, unpacked, hauled all the dirties downstairs, and I scooped the cat box. Daughter came over with Toby and Higgs and we talked with her a bit. I started a load of unders, then FCD and I ran to Arby’s for a sammich. When we got back, I had to run the vacuum cleaner because Ziva left clumps of hair all over the place, then I had to throw the unders in the dryer and the jeans in the washer.

And once I got this machine fired up, there were several hundred emails to purge. So PHEW!

I’ll post tales of the cruise eventually, tho it’s really boring with one sad event. For now, tho, I have a bit more online business to take care of. But I won’t forget you!

MWAH!!

El Jefe sent out a reminder to complete the Seattle’s Best Places To Work survey.

When you get to the question that asks if you were forced to complete the survey, the correct answer is “No, our leadership would never be so smarmy and self-absorbed to force us to answer this!” That’s true, but I would still grateful it if you would do it.

‘forced’ was not only bold, but also red. Unfortunately, Discourse doesn’t have colours in the reply box.

Today I found Jesus Christ.
OK, so it was just a portrait in the overgoods, but I don’t get to say that every day. And between the last Air being late, and multiple people calling out, it was a long day. Judging by the chatter on the radio by TPTB, people are gonna be promoted to customer real quick.
Also my friend that had a car crash? She passed out and whacked her head on her coffee table(stitches!). And another friend had two falls(bruises). So nettie, nellie, Mrs. Wizard, and everybody else take take of your selves.

Welcome home, Moooooooommmmmm!!!… We used coasters while you were gone*.

*as Frisbees. But we did use them

The RV water hose burst this morning. Better now than in the wilds of North Dakota somewhere, though.

How does a crustless quiche differ from scrambled eggs with add-ins?

Feeling pretty OK today, except for very achy shoulders. Wondering if I overstrained some muscles when I was trying to pry myself off the floor and couldn’t during that incident.

I’d read that as a bit of a hint.

Ya can’t get as much cream into scrambled eggs as you can using a pie pan to contain everything. However, I do tell hubs that it’s scrambled eggs cause real men don’t eat quiche.

Today GG figured out that he could actually push a partially open door open far enough to go through it. My boy’s a genius, oh yes he is!!!

I figured he’d manage to activate a few more brain cells at some point.

Afternoon all. Didn’t get all my swimmim’ in, the pool is really busy on Firdays and after I took my break after the first half-hour (825 yards) and went into the whirlpool, it filled up fast and even after whirlpool and sauna there was nothing free (they only have 4 lanes), so I showered and came home. Might go back tonight post-soccer (teaching a “Goalkeeping 101” class to a team of 8-9 year olds) and see if it’s any slower. Don’t want to be too late, soccer refereeing tomorrow, and it’s going to be in the 80’s again.

Unknown, hooray for GG letting his three brain cells connect.

Seanette, glad you’re doing better–now don’t overdo it!!

Oh Good Lord, doggio, not again…

FCM, imagine Higgs was happy to see you two. You’ve got me looking forward to my cruise (boarding 2 weeks from today).

OK, need to check on a couple of things and get dressed for soccer and maybe more swimmin’. All y’all take care.

2.72 miles today, 3.02 mph.

Gotta do some laundry, but as small as loads have to be in our washer/dryer, that shouldn’t be too much for me. Debating a hike down to the mailbox, which is at the other end of the complex. Maybe I should check Informed Delivery and see if there’s anything in there worth the bother, but OTOH I do need to be a little less sedentary.

Turns out my mom’s house needs a new roof, before closure. Sis and I took a chance and came up short. So we won’t get quite so much as we thought we might.

I’d pay it all, with no inheritance,. if I could have my mom back. I’m missing her more all the time. I just realized that when my aunt, her younger sister, passes, I will be the senior member of this branch of the family.

{{{hugs}}}

Howdy Y’all! This has been, as promised, a very slothful day. Seriously. We have done as next to nuttin’ as possible, I do believe. We did decide, however, to do a late N.O,L./early sup at Sonny’s as we had a five dollar off when you spend at least twenty-five deal, plus I had a text from Sonny’s for a free redneck aigroll appetizer. The coupon and the text were good until tomorrow, so we decided fate wanted us to go. Plus also, 'tis easy to spend twenty-five dollars at Sonny’s So we are stuffded to the gills and are now in major sloth/chill mode.

CupCakes sorry about the need for a new roof. I know what you mean about missin’ your mom.

Jane The Cane I am so proud of GG and his new found ability.

“redneck aigroll”?

Decided to DoorDash lunch for morale purposes. Yes, I know McDonald’s is a dubious dietary decision for someone with apparent blood pressure issues. We’ll work on such things once general anxiety settles a little.

{{{Cupcakes}}}

Today was a whirlwind of stupid at work. My brain is fried and can’t handle anymore. It’s hot and sunny outside and my system is shocked - shocked, I tells ya - to be in temperatures over 70 degrees F. Guess it’s time to get used to what we all wanted in the winter: heat.

Anyway, looking forward to the weekend. And my boards. And cake. Lots of cake.

I like the cut of your jib.

(And agree about small changes mediated by anxiety levels). Small changes, repeated over time, are what will work. An occasional quarter pounder and some fries ain’t gonna kill you, in fact they might booster your will to live.

“redneck aigroll”?

Redneck aigrolls. I will say that the sauce ain’t all that but the aigrolls are pretty good.

Those sound pretty good, really.

Professor Google tells me those are egg rolls made with barbecued pulled pork and coleslaw. I’d be willing to try, especially if I could indulge while day drinking with swampy around his cee-mint pond.
