A-choo! The MMP

Evenin’ all,

Just got back from irk. Did not kill most annoying co-irker, go me. Really, what kind of a freaking stupid contractor asks their co-irker, right in front of one of the guys they’re contracted out to “Do you want to mess around and try and stretch the hours out a bit more, or just go as soon as possible?” :smack:
I’m stuck working with him for the next two days as well, plus driving him back (an hour almost as it’s in Welsh Wales!) at 3ay emm Sattiday morning, and driving him back that evening, then finally home at what I’ve just realised will likely be 4 ay emm on Sunday morning 'cos the clocks change that night. Then I have to be at irk at the rugby at 12 midday.

I need the money, but aaaaaahhhhhhh… It’s the zombie thing- by Sunday evening, I reckon they could get me as one of the zombies without any makeup.

Home, got my mise en place ready for dinner(I like fancy cooking words), fish tacos.

: waves at Jim : sit back and relax.

Good luck, Sticky!

Sorry you got stuck at work, Drae.

Had a pretty good day at work. Got a lot done.

Gratuitous silly selfie from a couple of nights ago.

I’ll be practicing my clarinet for an upcoming concert soon.

I posted a picture that was so silly it killed the MMP.

My new shoes came today. They’re the same as my old shoes, just without the hole on top of the left one.

I love New Balance. They’re comfortable right out of the box.

I’m tired and heading to bed. Night y’all!

What if organizers are of the wrong sex?
Thank Og it’s the end of the season as once again, I just got home & nukealated the other ½ of the frozen box from last night for din-din pt 2.
Mooommm, I don’t like 11 hr old sammiches as the bread tends to be soggy so I was going to take some bread & one of the multitude* of jars of PB to irk today but was in the car when I realized I didn’t take it. I didn’t eat all of my lunch, but didn’t want leftover leftovers (again) for dinner so Wendy made dinner pt 1.

  • There are 4 (different) opened jars in the kitchen & 9 or 10 more unopened ones in the basement. Okay, shameless plug time: They did sponsor the team I was on (which is why I have so much), but it’s also really, really good. Peanut Butter & Co. peanut butter is awesome! Dark Chocolate Dreams is great (I’ll sometimes just scoop out a spoonful & eat it) & White Chocolate Wonderful is pretty awesome, too. The Heat is On is spicy & is a good base for a kickin’ stir fry / Satay sauce. I can’t give you my recipe though cause I kinda wing it when I make it.

Was he gone?

Midget, you didn’t kill the MMP. I was just celebrating a rare win.

For Sticky and** Ace**

and whomever else wants to look

You made me smile this morning. Thank you. I needed that!

Happy Firday!

It’s an above freezing 38 degrees outside with a projected high of 59 degrees.

I am up too early, damn bladder but as much as I slept yesterday I shouldn’t be tired

Yesterday was a mess.
OAOASO got caught up in a scam - he never listens to me.

Happy Firday, everyone. Thank Deity the weekend is almost upon us.

My agenda for the day includes making meatballs, and a loaf of French bread. I’ll be making spaghetti tonight (Or tomorrow, depending on when Mr. Ace will be coming home) for our dinner. I made the sauce last night, so that much is done.

We’ll be having a warmish day, with the temperature into the 50s. More rain is maybe headed this way tonight. I don’t care. I don’t have to shovel rain.

I need more coffee.

Apparently Higgs has decided against this sleeping-in silliness. Between that and Taz walking on me, I was again awake far too early for a retiree. Oh well…

I was a little worried about the kittehs yesterday - Taz slept all day and Ziva mostly hid. But at 5:45 in my bathroom, they were back to their old selves, wanting a drink while I was busy with other matters. I guess the trip to the vet was a tad traumatic - that’s what I’d suspected, so I’m glad that’s all it was.

Today we meet with our financial planner at the credit union to do a review of our one annuity and see about rolling FCD’s 401k into another. Gotta make sure we can continue to live indoors into our dotage. I’ve also got to do a load of unders, and I want to strip the bed. Yep, Firdays are wild days at FairyChatEstates!!! I might even buy some more yarn while we’re out and about. You read that right - MORE YARN!!!

Happy Firday!!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 59 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 68 and rain/tstorms/apocalypse this afternoon and evenin’. Tomorrow will be the same gloom and doom forecast. It does look like some nasty stuff is headed this way.

On the irk front, I got a text from the head honcho at the orifice, who is not my head honcho, but the local head honcho at the Jawja Department of Labor where the orifice is located. She got a call informin’ her of electrical problems there and that as of now the generator has kicked on. This means no power back in my corner as there would be power only in the front part of the buildin’. So, I have emailed TPTB that I will be irkin’ from da cave because of this. YAY! I do have to be out and about for a bit cause I need to visit some local agencies where I have placed folks for trainin’. Heck, it’s just as easy to do that startin’ from da cave as the orifice. I shall get that done this mornin’ before the impendin’ doom starts. I can check any messages on the orifice phone provided said phone is functionin’ but I don’t expect any major disasters and TPTB can reach my cell if need be. Other than that I can irk on electronic paperirk stuff that needs doin’ from da cave this afternoon.

How’s that for rambly!

Now I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then, alas and alack, irk purtification must commence. I must still be somewhat presentable. Oh well, at least 'tis Firday and jeans day.

Happy Firday Y’all!

I find that Khan is always extra-tired for a day or so after a trip to the vet. It could be the trauma, it could be the shots. I’m usually just relieved to find he’s still breathing. I never expected him to get this old, and I find myself constantly staring at him to make sure he’s still with us. He has stopped giving a crap about when somebody enters a room and doesn’t bother to lift his head if he’s got a good nap on. Little bastard can still run and jump just fine when I try to put a vase of flowers in an “unreachable” place, though.

I’m so glad it’s Friday. I have nothing at all to do this weekend, but I expect a couple sudden showings and a trip to the dog park. We may have to go the dog laundromat afterwards, because the park is muddy.

so now OAOASO is mad at me

seems I’m a downer
I told him there was something wrong with the deal he got himself into. I think it makes him ad when I am right. Anyway, his landlord sold the house and he has to move out. He went to a realtor to find another rental and she sent hi off to check out some rent-to-own deal.
As soon as he told me about it I saw red flags. The first one being (and this is where he is really mad at me because he doesn’t need me telling him what he an afford) that I know there is no way he could afford the house.
Sorry dude, but when you still owe me $455 from last year and I’m still waiting for the money, and you have to take in roommates to help pay the rent, and you will call me from the road and ask me to put $20 in your account so you can buy some lunch and you will pay me back on Firday - it’s not rocket science to know you can’t afford a $400,000 house. People who can afford $440,000 houses don’t need to borrow $20 for lunch.
The second red flag was that all it takes is a $69 check for a credit check and a $4000 check for the deposit and you can move in. If the rent is $2500/month then at minimum it should be $5000 to move in, and would usually be $7500 (first months rent, last months rent and security deposit). Nope, all you need is a credit check and $4000 and move right in. No employment check needed, no income verification, move on in and in two years come up with $16,000 and you can buy the house.
The terms of the lease, pay $2500/month and what ever amount over that you want to put towards escrow. No set amount, just what you can afford each month, it’s all good.

Then he sent me a copy of the lease.
You have got to be kidding me. the tenant is responsible for everything, including the roof, plumbing, wiring, everything!
Then the terms of the lease, you could be evicted for having a gold fish, leaving a dirty dish in the sink, not cleaning the leaves out of the gutters in a timely manneer, and the landlord has the right to inspect any time with NO notice (I’m not even sure that is legal). I think you could be evicted for farting in the wrong direction. Well maybe if you went outside, except even one complaint from a neighbor for anything was also grounds for eviction.

Anyway, OAOASO called the realtor about something (not anything I said was wrong because I’m just a downer who doesn’t know anything) and the realtor told him don’t sign anything until I get back to you and it turns out the man offering the rent-to-own deal doesn’t even own the house. The realtor told him people will rent houses, turn around and offer themas a rent to own deal and then take off with the deposit. I think even if the scammer hadn’t done that he worded the lease in such a way that the tenant can be evicted for just about anything and since the tenant violated the lease the scammer gets to keep any of the money in escrow.

So OAOASO hadn’t signed any papers but he had written a check for the credit check and the deposit. He told the man to hold the deposit check for a few days until he could put the money in his account. Well the scammer didn’t wait, and fortunately OAOASO hadn’t deposited the money and the bank refused to pay on the check. All he is out is the $69 for the credit check, $38,50 for the bounced check, and $35 for the stop payment on the check.

I handled the banking end of things since I am on his account, he has to handle the credit side of things because now the scammer has all his credit information.

Now he is mad at me, whatever. He’s too trusting, which is surprising because he is way more street smart than I am. I think everything is a scam until proven otherwise.

**sari **- at the risk of poking my nose in where it doesn’t belong, why is this guy still in your life? Granted we only know what you tell us here, but it sounds as if the only thing this guy is good for is stories you share in the MMP. My unprofessional and uninformed opinion is that he’s an aggravation you don’t need to deal with.

Moving on - I’m showered and dressed. The whites are in the washer. I need to empty the dishwasher and do something with the chickie carcass I boiled the other day. And we need to leave in about 2 hours for our appointment at the credit union. I’m thinking the chickie can wait till we get back. In the interim, I think I can deal with emptying the clean dishes and folding the unders when they’re done.

It’s dreary, and it’s gonna stay dreary till Monday, but at least it’s not snow - just rain.

Today’s weather looks decent, but three of the four days after that are predicted to rain (so of course, DH got the car’s AC working yesterday).

I hate this getting up at 0530 nonsense. At least the Princess got snuggly between alarms (yesterday she was in a snit about something, so no morning snugglefest).

Trying to decide which frozen entree to take to work for lunch today. At least I get the car.

Some rearranging and upheaval yesterday, leading to a new boss (not sure how compatible I am with the now-boss, but I’ll do my best to deal with him. Still would have liked to keep the one I had a few days ago, though. I like him) and one lead getting moved to another department (I can deal with this. I’m not sure former lead really should be in a position of any authority).

Got the runnin’ around I needed to do done. Go Me! This rainy and dreary out so I’m glad to be in da cave. Also I have learned that the orifice electrical problems have sump’n to do with the fact that there are several bad breakers that need to be replaced. That will get done this weekend I am told. Matter of fact the GDOL is closin’ at noon today so the electrical folks can get started. I didn’t think state stuff moved that fast but go them.

Butters I helped place someone in a counselor position at a transitional center (transition from prison to the public) located in Sycamore back in December. Small world huh! Looks like a soggy Fire Ant Festival this weekend.

Sari geez! Not real bright is he? I smelled scam all the way down heah.

Nettie can’t remember if I said this earlier, but yay for gettin’ the wheels back!

Ok, back to irk.

A fellow in my department emails the user when the email is not working.
