A Crafty MMP, no frankenpuppies allowed!

Blurf.

Last night the freezer quit functioning as such and at midnight I realized that it was 32F in there. Not a good thing. So, I had to run around like the proverbial chicken and stuff hundreds and hundred of pieces of frozen cookie dough in the house freezers, not to mention 30 pounds or so of chicken. I was NOT a happy camper and this morning I feel like I’m going to puke. But I don’t have time to do that because I’ve got to get out breakfast for 12 and lunch for 93 by 10:15 this morning!!!* And so with that, I’m off to work.
*Yes, it’s nice to have some decent work, but it gets a little tense when it’s all in one day instead of spread out throughout the week.

Oh, my, Sticky! Not a good thing to find out. At least you caught it in time, but still.

Up early to get things done before it gets hot.

Off to find breakfast…

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. In a few more minutes it should be light enough out to put chicken on the smoker. Ima do it early so it’ll be done by around oneish before it gets too hot. Predicted high today is 97 Amurrkin with a heat index of probably around 105. Since the hottest part of the day is around threeish I figure the best thing to do is get it done before then. I’m all smart like that.

Herbs that was just the interview yesterday. Since it’s with the state who knows when I’ll know the outcome. The state of Jawja moves slllllloooowwwww.

StickyBuns ick! Hope you were able to save all your frozen stuff.

Ouch BBBobbio! However, good the foomobile is functional.

Rebo glad ya like the mop. I really like mine. I tried a couple of others and didn’t like 'em, but the Shark is a good one.

Ok, looks like there’s enough daylight, so off to smoke some boobs and thighs.

Later Y’all!

Chicken is on the smoker. Just call me Smokey The Bear!

I actually blew off a fire page last night.

Somewhere around the crack of ohmygawd, there was a page for Hooterville’s station for an automated fire alarm at a residence, with Mayberry as the mutual assist. In the 4 years that I’ve been running, I have yet to respond to an automatic alarm that was an actual fire, so instead of jumping and running, I decided to wait for someone to say ther was real smoke.

Hooterville’s assistant chief was there within 5 minutes, told us we can go home, and also sent all but one of his trucks back. Fine with me.

The only other time I blew off a page was for a stereotypical cat in a tree.

I stil haz a few blurfs tooday.

Morning. It’s goning to be 100 today, and the corporate office has joined TVCTPMO.

I love my Shark mop. I have one of the hand held ones too. Also, great.

Heard from my boy in Costa Rica. He’s helping translate (yay for all that Spanish). He’s pretty stoked about the hiking, the insects and all that.

Happy Mumper Hump Day! Keep cool!

Weekend was rainy. Saw Eclipse and enjoyed it. They definitely saved money on Taylor Lautner’s wardrobe.

Tried to order the iphone 4 on the web. It told me to go to the sto. I don’t want to go to the sto. That is why I’m trying to order it on the web. Called the Apple dude and the same thing happened to him. Bah!

Appendages crossed for swampy and dipsey!

I don’t do nuttin crafty these days. :o

Rosie’s sig to all not previously mentioned.

Tupug

Beautiful hardanger work, Kite! I have a piece about 95% finished w/ some cutwork and hardanger stitches mixed with over-one X stitch. Framing cost is gonna kill me.

I have some crafty jewelry stuff online but it’s on a commercial site so I’m not posting as I presume that would be frowned upon.

Oh and heat wave? Please stop. Thank you.

Think I’ll go mow a couple of yahds. Don’t know if’n I’ve mentioned this or not but I have some friends who are too lazy to mow their own yahds. They have small yahds that take at most a half hour to cut. So… I told 'em I’d do it for a reasonable price which we all agreed upon. There’s five of 'em that I do. I mow, edge and even clean off the sidewalks and walkways with my blower cause I’m nice dammit! Plus it’s a nice couple hunnert bucks a month for very little work.

That’s what’s shakin’ in swampland.

Sorry, Coyote! I knew someone else had mentioned it, but I was too lazy to look back.

Another lazy day at Casa de Rebo. I have to take dad to the dentist this afternoon, though.

Just talked to my friend and ex-coworker. She’s gonna come by this Friday to borrow a big fan, so we’re gonna go to lunch. The fan is for her baby’s first birthday party! Time sure flies! I need to pick up a gift for him.

Still no Dipsey, alas… keeping my fingers crossed.

Wow. I’m impressed! Those are beautiful. I can’t do needlework, but I do scour garage sales for textiles. I do love them.

Hot. Yay for air conditioning. It actually was the number one priority when we were house hunting. I not only wilt in the heat, but get really sick.

Working on laundry and getting little girl off to camp. It’s actually nice just to putter around getting chores done.

Suck it, TVCTPMO. I just got a glowing performance review and a raise. Kinda takes the sting out of the car tab…

Help. What’s that mean again?

The Vast Conspiracy To Piss Me Off.

Right. Got it.

Yay for good review and the swag BBBobbio!

I mowed two yahds then went to the sto’. That’s right! I went to the sto’ after gettin’ all hot and sweaty and ick mowin’. It was the regular grocery sto’ not :eek:Wally*World:eek: where half the people always look like they just finished mowin’. They had beef roasts, sausage, onions and N.O.T. on special. I had to stock up!

Also, the chicken boobs and thighs are done to a turn! They shall sit on warm in a slow cooker until dindin time. MMMMMMMM… I shall steam cabbage and squish and perhaps some new N.O.T. in white sauce. Plus probably some corn bread cause da bear is hongry for some real food!

Can I move in with you? Even for a little while?

I’m going to be on the east coast, so we’ll see what happens.

Baked goods sound awesome-- been buggin’ the husband to help me make brownies, but he keeps vetoing the idea.

My vote is for sheet stains.

Got back from the doc this morning in what seems like record time; got a work-related injury check-up that only took half as long as last time (3+ hours). Things are looking better, and I’m almost done with packing and cleaning out another room. Still counting down the days left of work, and making mental footnotes about crafty-sewy stuff when we get moving.

Howdy all. Didja miss me?

It has been all kinds of ridiculously busy in my world the last I dunno how long. To cut a long story short, my colleague/boss was made redundant and I have been promoted to Head of Legal  , with a whole host of extra responsibilities (and a nice not-so-little bump to the salary, too :D), but it has meant slightly longer hours that I am working to balance out with hubby at home. HRH was a bit pissy for the first week, but now I am only spending about an extra 30 minutes a day in the office, so she’s okay. She’s in littlies’ summer camp now for July-August, with a fun pirate theme to their games and activities.

Summer is here and the living is … not so easy. Stinking hot and more humid this year than last, I am sure - this week the temps are around 105°F/41°C, with the heat index up closer to 113°F/45°C - yeeee-ouch!

In other ridiculous news, HRH managed to give herself a papercut …

on her labia, after she thought “tickling her bottom” with her nursery rhymes book seemed like a good idea. :o :dubious:

The conversation that followed was not one I thought I would ever have!

That’s all I got for now. I will try to check in more regularly now that things are back on an even keel (more or less).
