My house must be cleaned.
Dishes washed.
Laundry folded.
Clothes washed.
I sit and do nothing… I surf the net… mingle on the dope…
My cozy bed calls.
I’m keeping the cats.
ETA: Karmic reward- first without trying!

Obviously you just passed your motivation on to me. Very generous.
I’ve vacuumed, moved furniture, and eaten more gingerbread. Nom nom nom.
My child is currently licking the floor.
I’m with you so far…
This part’s OK, too…
Bwah…?
Watch out! Dudette be crazy…!
Ah, he’s populating all that important intestinal flora. Good for him!
Lunch– sheket, s’il vous plait
Ken, ma cherie!
LiLi: So wait… you have perfectly good gingerbread in the house, and Nat is opting to lick floor instead?
Clearly, this child must take after his father.
They’ve yelled at me to go home already (we were told to go around 1pm, but I wanted to file my expense report that is now 3 weeks overdue and get my OT approved… both things serve to line my pocket, which is worth staying a little later for).
However, I am now going home. Nyah. I know you’re all jealous.
Well, I’m jealous anyway…ya big slacker!
Am back from waiting a VERY long time at Lenscrafters for #2 son’s glasses. She fixed 'em, but next time he needs new, we’re getting plastic frames. His lenses are too thick for wire rims (although he looks a lot like Harry Potter with the wire ones).
I am doing nothing (well, I did some laundry and made some cake batter cookies). I am a slug–so far there is no 94+ with heat index of 100+ as predicted ALL week. It’s 81 and breezy out. It’s humid as hell and the storm clouds are gathering, but I was expecting HEAT. Part of me wants to nap and part of me wants to well, nap… Hm…
Noone–I dunno 'bout boats. I can’t figure out why he wanted one. He’s never boated (but he did canoe), and he got his private pilot’s license yonks ago (better a boat than a plane, though!). He bought a houseboat (to live in once we were no more) but that didn’t work out. He scrapped that boat, but sold the engines. Now he has a motorboat. I think it’s Guy in his mid-40s Thing. It could have been a sportscar. All I know is that we pay money on something we don’t use…
Well, I’m sure he’d like to be offered gingerbread…
I forgot to tell you, Muppet, that Nat has been thoroughly enjoying both your presents and the bag they came in. He was playing with the bag all morning.
CutiePie here’s a link to how to file a complaint with the EEOC. Now IANAL and certainly not an expert when it comes to disability rights and/or law, but the denial could have been due to the fact that standing could be viewed as an “essential function” of someone who is a cashier. Anywho, it couldn’t hurt to ask for an EEOC investigation. Just my .02.
I don’t get this mid-life crisis stuff. I didn’t go out and buy a boat or sports car or stuff like that there when I decided to have mine. I went on a cruise for a week and had a blast. Ol’ y’all know who, two of our friends and me all of whom had either just turned 50 or were goin’ to turn 50 in a couple of months declared the cruise our mid-life crisis. It was fun and a relatively inexpensive (about 1500 dollars each) way to have one and get it over with. Really, we ate, we drank, we gambled, we danced and generally carried on for five days. Got it all out of our systems.
I’m hongry but I don’t wanna eat anything cause around fiveish we will have this enormous dindin.
BTW, ol’ y’all know who’s inspection went well today. The inspector person was there at eight and left at two sayin’ everything looked really great. YAY! I have a feelin’ that besides gluttony tonight’s festivities will also include drunkeness. Lust will figure into the mix too.
Greed, pride, envy, sloth (ok, maybe some sloth) and wrath are on their own.
I left work at 11:30. Been home since 1.
Ah, relaxation.
Hmph. Kids these days, I tell ya. You buy the expert-approved, development-enhancing, intellect-stimulating, build-a-future-genius toys… and they’d rather play with a dollar store gift bag.
(I kid, I kid… I’m glad he’s enjoying them, though his taste may be somewhat questionable since he’s also finding lots of other things diverting… such as the floor)
In other news, I’m munching on some raspberries I just picked in the backyard. They’re still warm from the sun. Nom nom nom. Unfortunately, we only have two canes, which never produces more than a handful of ripe berries at at time - I’m going to plant some more next spring in the hopes of increasing the yield to a full pint or so.
Our green beans are also just about ready to pick, and the wax beans are blooming - which means I ought to have my first crop in a week or two. Plus our tomato plants are practically covered in blossoms and little baby tomatoes, which suggest we’ll probably be up to our eyeballs in yellow plum 'maters very very soon. It’s all very exciting.
TGIF. I had a long, mostly boring day, with a few odd interludes. I got my new computer at work - yay! And thanks to my roaming profile, I didn’t lose much. I did lose the stuff I worked on last week, but it was screwed up, so no big there.
Oddly enough, my other computer at work, the one that didn’t get replaced, lost all its bookmarks and stuff. Which means my roaming profile roamed away from that machine. Fortunately, I remembered most of my common links. And it may all show up on Monday - who knows??
Incidentally, I love sitting by a window. Even tho all I see are tops of trees and sky, it’s nice.
SIL is gone - yay! Daughter will be home tomorrow night, so **FCD ** have the house to ourselves tonight. He came home early today and did some work in the basement. I came home and got on line, because I’m a slug. We’re going out to dinner, then we’ve got to buy some extremely expensive wire (#8-3 with a ground) to pull to the garage. 82 feet at almost $2 per foot. <sigh> Oh well, we gotta do it.
Where to go for dinner?? decisions, decisions…
Smartie - the virus scan normally launches at 7PM on Thursday night, but if a laptop or desktop computer is turned off at that time, it’s going to launch just as soon as the computer boots up again.
I just found out that some friends of ours that make caramels will have their product featured on the Rachael Ray show this coming Monday! The Tivo is armed… If anyone else watches, they’re the “artistic” candies. I won’t say any farther, so people don’t think I’m trying to advertise for them. I will say that there was a last-minute panic along the lines of the show producer calling them and saying “Can you get 50 pounds to us on Friday?” They’ve never produced and wrapped a batch so quickly and scurried it off to FedEx, and they hope they never have to do that again. (Uh, can you give us more than six hours’ notice next time? Fifty pounds sent by First Overnight was just a little spendy!)
Yes, MamaTigs, a lawyer would be ideal, but it’s a struggle just to keep up with the house payment so that is an absolute last resort.
Thanks for the link, swampy, actually, I got a couple of links from **Hello Again ** in my other thread and one of them had examples of appropriate and reasonable accomodations. One of them was about a cashier that tired easily from lupus and needed a stool to sit on. So, I think it’s just that my mom’s company is a major pain in the ass, not anything else.
Actually, I’m kind of mad at my mom a little bit too. I printed out the pages to the one link explaining in user friendly terms how it all works and SHE DIDN’T READ IT YET. I find this very frustrating because if she would have educated herself, she might have had a proper comeback when they told her no. Now we’ve got to wait around until at least Monday to do anything else.
Ok, TVMan is talking, I guess I should pay attention.
I’m home, too! I stopped off at Wally World and got my son some shirts for work; and for me some potatoes, and some tortillas; and a pair of novelty boxers for Mr Rebo that say, “It’s gotta be 5’oclock somewhere!”
And even though it’s not quite 5 o’clock - I’m having an adult beverage 'cuz I’m an adult, by golly!
LiLi - can I borrow Nat? My floor needs moppin’…
There is some nutritional value in that - dog food crumbs all around the dog dishes…
It’s Quit O’Clock!
Oy. It looks like Social Security wants to cut me off. Of course the person I have to talk to to find out exactly what’s going on isn’t there until Monday. This isn’t a disaster, I can go full time and will squeak by financially and the job is sedentary enought that I can go full time. But I want to talk to them before I tell my boss to go ahead and do it. She says she can, no problem, which makes me feel much better about the whole thing. It stems from an accident of pay periods – there were three of them in February, which puts me over the monthly limit, but what am I supposed to do, not work for two weeks a couple of times a year? It’s not like biweekly pay periods are unusual. But if they want me gone, fine, I’ll go. It’ll be nice to not have to worry about them anymore anyway.
MY BOSS KICKS ASS! SHE’S AWESOME!
After all of that stress today, I might have an adult beverage or two myself. Not too many, I have to work tomorrow. sigh

Ok, here’s a link to my friggin sign thread.
That’s what Barbie said.
