Fact: our boy kitty Riley came home this morning!!! He got out Friday night and it was the scariest thing and my heathens had been using their every waking moment looking for him.
My second oldest daughter was out after her after prom party with a group of her friends in their good clothes going through the bushes and alleys and my youngest daughter went to all of the neighbors and asked them to keep an eye out for him and met some very nice Palmer students who helped her look.
Last night after youth group a bunch of those kids went out with us looking and my oldest son has now officially touched more kitty junk than anyone not a Vet has a right to. See Riley James is a black cat and it is dark at night and you couldn’t imagine how many black cats there are in the neighborhood until you are looking for one and so the ones we could get close enough to he would pet and feed a bit and the check to see if they were male or female. Yeah, he loves me for that.
But after I posted here this morning and went to take my oldest son to school we heard a stuttered meow and there he was on the front porch looking terrified. He purred so loudly and came right in and ate and went right upstairs to check on the remaining kitten and is now snuggled up in a box next to me.
Yes, kittens did happen from an earlier thread. There were only three and two didn’t make it. I found it odd that the girl kitty Roxi wanted Riley close to her when she had the kittens and they all snuggled up together after. I didn’t think cats could be like that. Who knew?
Wow, sorry this is way long but I’m soooooo happy!!!
Grats on the no smoking tarragon! Good luck Lucky!!! And thank you for the welcome IvoryTowerDenizen!
Now please tell me it’s okay that I posted my long story in this thread instead of starting my own?
Hey Kricket! MMPs are for all types of stories, long and short, so whenever you feel like sharing, stop on by! And even if ya don’t wanna share, stop by anyway!
**Kricket **- Yay for returning kitteh!! And your story was peachy-keen with a whipped cream happy ending! Just what the MMP exists for!
**tarra **- congrats on staying smoke-free! Maybe your dream about the stud-muffin from your past is about substituting one smokin’ hot thing for another?? I got nothing…
**Dotty **- Organization is vastly overrated.
**MBG **- so you’re an expert on bus and pus??
Back from the dentist - I got to have the full set of xrays done, and the roof of my mouth is kinda sore - them little film thingies are not quite little enough for dainty moi. After the cleaning, I ran to WalMart for cat litter and a few other things. On the way back, I saw the strawberries are in at the stand around the corner. Too bad I only have $2 in cash. I’ll get more tomorrow and pick up a couple of quarts on the way home. Last year, they were teh YUM!!
I’m going to resume the knitting posture. Because it’s quiet and because I can. Yay!
Oh yeah - forgot one other little factoid that no one else really cares about - today is my daughter and SIL’s first anniversary. A year ago today was the last time I wore a dress, hose and heels. And that’s a fact!
The new guy sitting across from me Will. Not. Shut. Up. I’m trying to get work done, and he’s yammering away about cool music he’s just downloaded and how well his stocks are doing and how much he partied last weekend and where he’s going on vacation and how there’s this awesome website he loves and how he nearly got banned on Facebook and and and.
Fact: My job interview for a perfect summer job has been rescheduled…again. It should have been today, then Wednesday, and now it’s pushed back to Thursday. I’m getting so impatient!
Fact: I very, very rarely get to see an MMP that isn’t already into 3+ pages, so I’ve decided to post in this one.
Fact: The longest hockey game in the history of the NHL took place March 24, 1936, with 116:30 minutes of overtime play, making the game just three and a half minutes short of the equivalent of three back-to-back regular games (which consist of 3 20-minute periods). The final score was 1-0 in favour of the Detroit Redwings over the Montreal Maroons.
Fact: current “Hemi” engines do not have actually hemispherical heads. It’s now more of a marketing term than anything else.
Tha back has settled down now. It’s been a pretty busy weekend. On Saturday, we started sorting stuff in the garage for an upcoming garage sale and finally got hot tub stuff so we can actually use it. Better living through chemistry here - there’s some sort of silver thing that’s inside the filter and we just have to drop in a tablespoon full of mild shock (Guess that would be a tingle?) after each use. In case things start getting icky, there’s some sort of super shock, but that silver thing removes the need to check the water every other day and in general claims to make taking care of the tub pretty much “set it and forget it.”
Our carpenter friend came by yesterday to put in our new patio door. Looks good and no more cursing and struggling with the old door and its broken wheels. We may have unwittingly given him a bunch of extra jobs. Our neighbors are having him put in a new door for them next weekend, and another neighbor is considering replacing their doors as well.
Fact: A person uses, approximately, fifty-seven sheets of toilet paper each day.
What? Y’all are shocked I’d have a tp fact?
Howdy Y’all from rainy/stormy south Jawja. Not that I’m complainin’ cause we could use the rain. I just wish it wouldn’t decide it has to come down at the rate of a couple of inches an hour. Sheesh! Pace yerself mother nature!
Twelve people got let go at work today. Over trivial little things such as not showin’ up to work half the time. According to each and every one of ‘em they were bein’ singled out and picked on.
Hotdawgs for dindin tonight. With french fries. I also have pickles, so there’s a green healthy veggie to go with. I’m all nutrition conscious after all.
Welcome newbies! MOOOOOOM gets chocolate love offerings and beer may be sent to doggio and myself.
I haven’t read a great deal of Asimov (mostly his more famous short stories), but he is one of my favorite personalities. I would like to read his Guide to the Bible; it sounds quite interesting.
